Lai Thieu fruit season festival 2023 kicks off

On May 22, People's Committee of Thuan An City held the opening of the Lai Thieu ripe fruit festival 2023 with the theme "Cau Ngang in appointment season". The ceremony was attended by Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Binh Duong Provincial Party Committee; leaders of provincial departments and branches; leaders of Thuan An city, numerous locals and tourists.

For many years, the Lai Thieu ripe fruit festival has become one of the traditional cultural festivals of Thuan An city. This year's festival takes place from May 22 to 28, at Ngang Bridge area, Hung Dinh ward, with a variety of activities to serve the sightseeing, entertainment and shopping needs of locals and tourists. The festival is held not only to serve the needs for visiting, shopping, enjoying delicious food, famous fruit specialties of Lai Thieu, but also to raise people's awareness of preserving orchards, preserving fruit varieties, and aiming to recover the brand name "Lai Thieu orchard", which has been associated with the formation and development of Thuan An.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyen Thi Hien, Vice Chairwoman of Thuan An City People's Committee, said that through this festival, the City People's Committee wishes the city's competent units to strengthen close links with businesses, gardeners to recover the famous Cau Ngang - Lai Thieu tourism brand. The City People's Committee calls on farmers and gardeners in the city to make efforts and coordinate with local authorities to continue maintaining and developing precious local specialty fruit gardens. In particular, gardeners need to change their thinking, business form, and be friendly as serving tourists; contribute to preserving and building a friendly, enthusiastic, and hospitable image to attract more and more tourists to Lai Thieu in particular and Binh Duong province in general.
