On May 22, Lai Thieu fruit season festival 2023 was officially opened. The festival will take place in seven days (from May 22 to 28), in addition to animated cultural and sports activities, as coming to the festival space visitors may also visit orchards, enjoy specialty fruits of Lai Thieu as well as delicious dishes made from the fruits of this land.

Prepare well for the festival
This year's Lai Thieu fruit season festival takes place in Cau Ngang area, Hung Dinh ward - where there are many famous orchards in Thuan An city. Therefore, as soon as the City People's Committee had a plan to organize the festival, Hung Dinh ward quickly developed a plan for the festival and directed local branches and mass organizations to join hands for the festival, ensuring the event is safe and meaningful, creating a joyful and exciting space for residents and visitors.
Ho Anh Thi, Vice Chairman of Binh Nham Ward People's Committee, said the festival is an opportunity for the locality to continue developing and promoting the image of Lai Thieu orchards to tourists; Thereby, creating favorable conditions for this locality to exchange, learn, promote trade, invest in tourism, contributing to stimulating the economy and tourism in the ward, especially orchard tourism. The locality has implemented many information and communication forms to help people understand the purpose, meaning, and content of the festival; and at the same time encourage people to involve in promoting orchard tourism, responding to festival activities, showing the spirit of hospitality, communication, civilized and polite behavior.
Before the festival took place, Hung Dinh ward organized a campaign to clean the surrounding environment, especially the area where the festival took place, to clean canals to ensure open and clean landscapes. One issue is of great interest to local government is to build a cultural and festive lifestyle. Ho Anh Thi said that Hung Dinh ward held a meeting to propagate and encourage people to practice civilization during the festival, to ensure that there are no decoy, rip off… Households engaged in catering business during the festival must sign a commitment to conduct business in accordance with regulations, public prices, sell at the listed prices, and must ensure food safety and hygiene, environmental sanitation, urban order…
The ward also established a team to assist the organization of the festival with the participation of relevant branches and mass organizations; arranged more volunteers on duty to guide tourists and introduce about festival activities. In addition, the ward also organizes free parking for tourists coming to the festival. “Free parking is a new feature in this year's festival. Local government is also considering a "free festival" in the near future. To realize this step-by-step, this year we're offering free parking first. In the following festivals, we will carry out other free activities to create the most convenient conditions for tourists coming to festivals in the area”, said Mr. Ho Anh Thi.
Ready to welcome visitors
In the past few days, the festive atmosphere has become busier and more buoyant with banners and slogans being decorated on many roads. The gardeners prepared and eagerly awaited the opening day of the festival to serve tourist with fruits and special dishes.
Along Cach Mang Thang Tam street (section from Cay Tram bridge to Cau Tau junction, Hung Dinh ward) - where the festival takes place, festival booths are arranged orderly by the Organizing Committee for locals and tourists to visit and shop more conveniently. There are many booth sections, such as: plant seed and bonsai area, commercial area, fruit sale area, food court, clean agricultural product area...
Nguyen Thi Hien, Vice Chairwoman of Thuan An City People's Committee, said that the preparations for the festival are completed and ready to serve locals and tourists. After a few years of suspension for some objective reasons, this year the Lai Thieu fruit season festival is re-organized by the city with the desire to gradually rebuild the famous Lai Thieu orchard brand and to preserve the ecological zone for Thuan An urban area.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien added that the festival's activities will contribute to attracting tourists to visit, have fun, and enjoy delicious fruits as well as specialties of Binh Duong land in particular and the South in general; expand markets, promote trade, investment and tourism, stimulate economic and tourism development in the city. The festival "Lai Thieu fruit season" is also an opportunity for gardeners in the Southern region to learn and share experience in agricultural economic development, highlight the role of the people in building and developing orchard eco-tourism; and introduce quality fruits to tourists.
