Lai Uyen recognized as newly-style rural commune

Bau Bang district’s Lai Uyen commune, on July 11, held a ceremony on the announcement of meeting criteria of the new rural construction program.

After nearly 4 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction for the period of 2014-2017, the commune has reached obvious changes in all socio-economic aspects. Main works like rural markets, schools, agencies’ headquarters, health stations, power grids…have contributed to changing the local image.

The commune is home to 3 industrial parks with 2,522 hectares in total, absorbing 163 domestic and foreign enterprises with a total capital investment of US$7billion and US$2.25billion. The number of the local poor households has till now reduced to 15 or 0.52% of total. The average income of the local people last year was nearly VND32million per person.
