Lai Uyen’s animal husbandry farms on sharp development

Lai Uyen commune in Bau Bang district over the past years was appreciated as a locality with animal husbandry farms reaching fast growth in both quality and quantity.

The whole commune is now home to 38 households getting involved in pigs-breeding farms with a total herd of around 16,000; 32 ones breeding chickens with a total herd of around 300,000. Besides, there are some large-scale livestock and poultry husbandry companies, namely Kim Long, Truc Dien…, reported in the commune. Around 70% of the local households also get involved in livestock and poultry husbandry after harvest time.

In the face of the situation, the communal People’s Committee has requested for a policy approving the planning of 80 hectares in Dong Cheo hamlet for the local concentrated animal husbandry. Dong Cheo concentrated animal husbandry area has so far absorbed 26 farms on animal husbandry.
