Land fund planning for urban green trees

On the afternoon of August 25, Vo Van Minh, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to hear contributive ideas on the local draft project for urban green tree development at provincial Integrated Administration Center, in attendance of leaders of local departments and agencies.

At the meeting, provincial Department of Construction presented a number of strategic orientations for urban green tree development. The department also said that the province needs to keep land funds for planning green trees in the previous planning periods, make adjustment (if any) to ensure feasibility; review public land funds; realize new planning for green tree land fund in large-scale urban development areas while proposing mechanisms and policies related to maintenance and operation, pilot arrangement for green trees...

Delegates also gave contributive ideas to the draft project about methods of land fund planning for green trees; research for green tree design models, types of green trees, their sizes for arrangement in parks and sidewalks, being in line with the characteristics of soil, the identity of each urban area...

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Minh basically agreed with the draft project while asking for provincial Department of Construction to absorb opinions by delegates in order to perfect the project. Especially, the project must state the planning orientation for the use of the land fund for green trees. He asked for localities to be proactive to set up specific plans and roadmaps to 2025, with a vision to 2030. It is necessary for localities to have appraisal units for green trees, setting up land fund planning for green trees.
