Le Thi Diep: An enthusiastic and creative women's union official

 Taking on the role of Women's Union’s President of Chanh Phu Hoa Ward (Ben Cat Town) from 2020, with a spirit of enthusiasm and creativity in her work, Le Thi Diep has made many contributions to women movements and union works. In particular, the ward Women's Union has become an example in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle.

Ms. Le Thi Diep was honored at the 2023 contest "Excellent WU officers of the Eastern Cluster".

 When she first assumed the President role of Chanh Phu Hoa ward Women's Union, her biggest concern was that she did not have much experience, so she had difficulty in directing and administering union works. Some of activities she launched were somewhat new and creative, but were not completely supported by branch officials and members due to fear of difficulties.

For example, when organizing the contest "Charming Ao Dai" for the first time, when it was first launched, most of the women lacked confidence and were afraid of crowds, so they did not really attract women to participate in the contest. After that time, Ms. Diep always accompanies, mobilizes, and solves difficulties and problems for the branches. As a result, the contest took place successfully and created attraction and spread in mental life of the women. That has motivated her to research, actively learn and apply creative ideas in association work; effectively, diversely and abundantly conducted storytelling contests about Uncle Ho, happy family contest, propaganda contest for revolutionary songs, creative start-up women's day, etc. of the ward Women's Union, thereby attracting the participation of a large number of members and women, contributing to the implementation of a cultural and civilized lifestyle, while meeting mental needs of women members.

In addition, Ms. Diep also found ways for the ward Women's Union to help members, women and difficult situations through unsecured loans from banks, or livelihood support, giving out health insurance cards, campaigning to donate necessities...

Leading by setting example, organizing many meaningful activities and programs, she and Executive Board of the Ward Women's Union created positive changes in the union work and local women's movement. In particular, the WU became a bright spot in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle. Women's Union of Chanh Phu Hoa ward attained excellent results for 3 consecutive years and was commended by the Central Committee of Vietnam Women's Union. Personally, she received the title of "Excellent Grassroots WU Officer" by the Central Committee of Vietnam Women's Union for the 2016-2021 term, and annually commended by the Provincial Women's Union...

Recently, in the contest "Excellent WU Officers" at provincial level, Ms. Diep won the second prize after three rounds of multiple-choice, talent and problem-solving; won the first prize in the presentation skill competition. She continued to be rewarded as participating in the 2023 contest "Excellent WU Officers of the Southeast Cluster".

During 6 years working with the WU, what Le Thi Diep always worries about is that gender equality is not really spreading among all classes of people, especially women. According to Ms. Diep, in order to protect disadvantaged women and children, WU needs to actively integrate it into activities to disseminate gender equality, the role and position of women today to raise women’s awareness. WU needs to promptly grasp cases related to women and children about domestic violence, child abuse, etc., so that they can promptly coordinate with functional agencies to provide help and support…
