Legal assistance in training for prosecution procedures

On March 6, the Interagency Coordination Council (referred to as the council) on legal assistance organized a training conference for competent authorities to conduct litigation on legal assistance coordination in the province.

At the conference, Mr. Nguyen Trong Tung, Director of the State Legal Assistance Center of the province, has deployed plans, circulars, document templates, and conclusions on the legal assistance activities of the Central Inter-Agency Inspection Delegation, the provincial People's Committee on the importance of legal assistance in litigation activities. According to the summary data, in 2023, the council has handled 325 legal assistance cases through litigation participation, including 217 criminal cases, 17 civil cases, and 1 administrative case. The number of vulnerable individuals seeking legal assistance has increased by 14.7% compared to the previous year; the council's operations have become more systematic.

Mrs. Nguyen Anh Hoa, Director of the Department of Justice, Chair of the Evaluation Council highly appreciates the results in the coordination work of the council; at the same time, she requests that the agencies conducting litigation, the litigants explain; analyze more for the defendants, the accused in the cases to understand clearly and choose legal assistance. The council members enhance information exchange, innovate methods, propose, advise to bring high efficiency in legal assistance work.

This time, the Department of Justice has awarded many commendations to groups and individuals who have excelled in legal assistance work.
