Lessons from Covid, don't forget!

Surely, among us, whether young or old, we cannot forget the days of outbreaking Covid-19 pandemic. The fourth outbreak three years ago started from the days after the holidays of April 30 and May 1 of 2021. This reminds us that there is still the risk of an outbreak if we are neglectful of disease, do not comply with recommendations of Ministry of Health and authorities at all levels. In fact, Covid-19 often "rises" after holidays or traditional festivals with large numbers of participants.

This year's holiday lasts for many days, so everyone wants to relax after hard working days. At tourist destinations, from beaches to mountains, in the past days, tourists gathered and took part in entertainment activities. This is also the main reason for the sudden increase in the number of Covid-19 infection cases after the holidays. According to information on Covid-19 prevention and control from the Ministry of Health, Covid-19 case number shows signs of increasing in the last days of April. Only on May 1, there were 1,243 new cases, on May 2 there were 1,202 new cases; although there was a slight decrease in number, there were 4 deaths, serious patients increased to 137 cases after only 1 day...

Learning from the experience of epidemic prevention, not letting the disease re-emerge as before, and improving the ability to prevent epidemics, right before the holiday, Binh Duong province actively reactivated the Covid-19 prevention and control system. The province ordered all medical facilities to plan for patient collection and treatment; proactively monitor and closely monitor the disease situation in their area, prepare to respond to possible epidemic situations.

In addition, medical facilities had plans to be ready and well organize emergency and care for patients infected with Covid-19, to minimize deaths and strictly implement the control of Covid-19 infection control, prevent cross-contamination in treatment facilities. In addition, medical facilities ensure logistics, funding, drugs, vaccines, biological products, supplies, chemicals, equipment, and human resources for disease prevention and control; continue to accelerate vaccination against Covid-19.

In addition to professional solutions of the medical authority, to raise awareness of pandemic prevention, especially before, during and after the holiday, the province asks agencies and units to strengthen information and communication to strictly and synchronously implement drastic measures to prevent and control the epidemic in accordance with the Central’s directive documents on the prevention and control of the Covid-19 and guiding documents of the province. Thereby, contributing to well implementing the message "2K + vaccine + medicine + treatment + technology + people's consciousness" and vaccination against Covid-19 among all classes of people.
