Teachers not only communicate knowledge for pupils but educate them about morality. For this significance, teaching is always respected and honored by society. “Respect teachers, respect morality” is a traditional cultural character for Vietnamese people. The annual anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (Nov. 20) is a good chance for the entire society to honor teachers’ contributions.   Nguyen Minh Giao, head of the provincial Committee for Education and Propaganda grants congratulatory flower baskets to teachers on Vietnamese Teachers’ Day.

Expressing gratitude to teacher generations, the provincial department of Education and Training on Nov. 18 held a get-together on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day. Attending the get-together were Nguyen Minh Giao, head of the provincial Committee for Education and Propaganda, leaders of the provincial People’s Council and Committee and local department of Education and Training through various stages.

Elite teacher Nguyen Thi Le My, former teacher of Dau Tieng high school, said “This get-together makes retired teachers feel warm and happy. I and my colleagues feel proud of this teaching”.

Unlike the previous years, this year’s get-together is focused on retired teachers. This expresses gratitude to the former generations, making a solid foundation for the latter generations. On behalf of the local department’s leaders, the provincial department of Education and Training vice director Tran Hieu tracked back the historic tradition of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day. Teacher Tran Hieu said that in Vietnam the “respect teachers, respect morality” tradition is good principle. Teacher is a typical image of noble and pure dignity of morality and human personality. In terms of personality, teacher must be a bright example for students. And, teacher must be a dedicated and kind-hearted person. In the renewal period, market mechanism’s left side impacts on many sides of society but teacher still keeps teaching’s noble characters.

Attending the get-together, the provincial People’s Committee vice chairman Huynh Van Nhi expressed his respect and honored teachers’ great contributions. The vice chairman reminded the local educational sector to further determine and set out effective solutions to create basic changes in improving quality of teacher staff and managerial cadres; to build training plans, ensure requirements of both quantity and quality; to spur renovation in content and teaching method in conformity with local conditions.

On these days, teachers feel warm when receiving fresh flowers from students. In addition, students across schools have launched emulation movement of good learning.

Tran Phat Hung, headmaster of Tan Phuoc Khanh high school in Tan Uyen district said that in this November Tan Phuoc Khanh high school’s youth union has initiated the emulation movement of good learning to express students’ gratitude to teachers. Additionally, the school has held a flower arrangement contest to pay tribute to teachers.

On the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, numerous lively activities have taken place at schools and localities across the province. With purpose of paying tribute to teachers, the provincial department of Education and Training’s party committee has steered its party cells to hold the wall-newspaper contest. The contest lured participation of 8 intermediate schools, 27 high schools and 7 continuous educational centers. Every unit implements its product on various materials. The contest is to help students extend their profound gratitude to teachers.

To mark this year’s Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, Binh Duong Agro-Forestry Intermediate School has launched many significant activities. Teacher Huynh Kim Ngan, headmaster of Binh Duong Agro-Forestry Intermediate School said that there will be a lively but significant program for the school students. It is a traditional get-together for teachers and students. Aside from musical items, the school will track back the national tradition of “respect teachers, respect morality”. In addition, the school will grant 12 gifts to individuals and units for their contributions for the school’s development and will hold a summing up ceremony of emulation movements launched in 2013.

Numerous activities eyeing the Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (Nov. 20) will be taken place from now till Nov.20. Not only schools, communes, wards, townships have also held activities to congratulate teachers.
