Local agro-forestry and fisheries production value reaches over VND5.4trillion

In the first half of 2016, Binh Duong faced hot weather, saltwater intrusion, drought in some northern areas and epidemic diseases in plants and animals.

Thanks to many effective measures took, the local agro-forestry and fisheries sector continued developing very stably during the period. Particularly, the sector’s production value was estimated at more than VND5.4trillion, up 3.9% compared to the corresponding period last year. The province’s total cultivation area for winter-spring crop reached more than 5,844 hectares. There were also around 2,091 hectares of farming area with hi-tech application, up 1,176 hectares against the corresponding period last year and around 108 hectares of urban farming area.
