Local armed forces attach special importance to “paying debt of gratitude” activities

Practical deeds

Paying tribute to heroic martyrs and policy beneficiaries is one of practical activities done by our nation and People’s Armed Forces showing the moral principal of “when drinking water, remember its source”. Towards the targeted people, provincial armed forces have implemented many practical activities with the spirit of active emulation and deep gratitude.

Province armed forces hand over a “comrade” house to a soldier in need of housing

So far, provincial armed forces have collected hundreds of sets of martyrs’ remains; spent hundreds of billions of VND to take care of policy beneficiaries; handled policies under the decisions of the Prime Minister for ten thousands of cases with hundreds of billions of VND; mobilized ten thousands of working days to carry out social welfare works, make contributions to the Gratitude Fund for construction of “great unity”, gratitude and charity houses…

Senior lieutenant-colonel Vu Xuan Thao, Deputy Head of provincial Military Command’s Politics said that provincial armed forces have continued responding to the “paying debt of gratitude” movement by more practical activities. On the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day, provincial armed forces strengthened propaganda activities to raise officials and soldiers’ awareness of paying tribute to policy beneficiaries. Accordingly, they voluntarily made contributions to the Gratitude Fund in order to construct gratitude houses, provide free medical check-up, medicine and gifts for policy beneficiaries. They also got involved in mass mobilization activities in association with visiting, presenting gifts to policy beneficiaries, poor people, poor-but-excellent pupils…

Making efforts to collect martyrs’ remains

Since early this year, provincial armed forces have collected and buried 4 sets of martyrs’ remains at martyrs’ cemetery; continued storing a list of more than 9,000 martyrs; fulfilled procedures asking for functional agencies to deal with policies for 1,623 cases in pursuit of the decisions of the Prime Minister with nearly VND4billion.

On the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day, provincial armed forces also advised authorities at all levels on visiting, presenting gifts worth more than VND13billion to 22,000 policy beneficiary families and poor people. Provincial Military Command also held delegations to visit, offer gifts worth VND21.4million to 12 officials over periods, 6 soldiers being war invalids and martyrs’ offspring; gave unexpected support of VND4million for 2 cases; built 1 “comrade” house, upgraded 1 gratitude house with total cost of VND110million…Especially, provincial Military Commands at all levels coordinated with sectors, units to make mass mobilization programs in association with visiting, presenting gifts to the local policy beneficiary families, revolutionary contributors. They cleaned up tens of kilometers of rural roads; offered significant gifts to policy beneficiaries, revolutionary contributors, poor-but-excellent pupils…

Possibly speaking, the above activities of paying debt of gratitude contributed to taking care of the material and spiritual lives of the local policy beneficiaries.
