Local economy continues to grow

This statement is assessed by the provincial People’s Committee. Many local goals have showed a fair growth. This is a basis for the province to excel 2011’s proposed tasks.

Industry reaches a fair growth

According to the provincial People’s Committee, with difficulties of inflation, high interest rate…, the provincial administration launched positive measures to help businesses stabilize production. In addition, businesses actively arranged investment structure, cut production expenses and raised management efficiency. These factors spurred industrial production at a fair growth rate.

 At a production line. In the first 9 months of this year, the local industrial production value was estimated at over VND85tril, a 17.5% rise from the same period last year. Some sectors with a fair growth rate included paper production, chemical, timber processing, food processing and electrical facilities…

Export turnover and budget collection reach high results

Local export turnover in the first 9 months of this year reached US$6,973mil, a 19.2% rise from the same period last year. Binh Duong now has over 1,670 export businesses. Many staple items reaching a fair growth rate included furniture, apparel, footwear, handicraft, rubber latex…

In the same period, the local budget collection reached VND17tril, winning 91% of the Finance Ministry’s goal and 81% of local People’s Council’s estimate.

The provincial chairman Le Thanh Cung affirmed that local economy continued to maintain a fair growth rate, thanks to key instructions from the provincial People’s Committee and timely settlements of production and business. The local GDP surged 13.7% from the same period last year, of which industry and construction increased 9.7%, service up 23.1% and agro-forestry and aquatic product 2.3%.

“With the growth rate, it is believed that local GDP would reach 14.5% in the end of this year”, said Le Thanh Cung.
