On April 22, Tran Van Nam, chairman of the provincial People’s Committee paid a reception to Mrs. Rena Elizabeth Bitter, the Consul General of the U.S in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC).

At the reception, Tran Van Nam shared some cooperation activities between Binh Duong and Portland under Oregon state as well as US enterprises’ investment in Binh Duong.

Until now, the US has ranked seventh out of 39 nations and territories investing in Binh Duong with 80 projects, capitalized at US$630mn. However, Tran Van Nam said that the US enterprises’ investment in Binh Duong remains modest compared with potential. Therefore, the provincial People’s Committee chairman hoped that Mrs. Rena Elizabeth Bitter would continue to set out positive activities to develop further cooperation tie between Vietnam and the US as well as Binh Duong and Portland.

Mrs. Rena Elizabeth Bitter highly appreciated Binh Duong’s development and applauded local effort in making up a perfect investment environment. She added that once TPP agreement inked, there will be numerous new opportunities for Binh Duong.

In addition, she revealed that she would make effort to facilitate the US enterprises’ investment in Vietnam as well as spur cooperation relation between Binh Duong and Portland.
