Local library catered for about 623,000 readers in 2014

It was the statistic of the provincial library at the summing up conference 2014 held on Jan. 29. In the past year, the local public library system supplemented 585,000 books, 729,000 newspapers and magazines, newly offered more than 8,400 reader’s cards for readers, rotated over 2.7 million book, newspaper and magazine titles to agencies and units, companies and schools.

In addition, the system held many activities and contests luring readers. In 2015, the provincial library sets a goal to cater for 200,000 readers, rotate 1.2 million titles of books, magazines and newspapers and newly offer 3,100 reader’s cards and more.

On this occasion, the provincial People’s Committee donated merit certificates to one collective, 2 individuals while the local department of Culture, Sport and Tourism granted merit certificates to 5 individuals for their excellent achievement in 2014. In addition, 8 other individuals were recognized grassroot emulation soldiers, 27 other individuals got the title of outstanding laborer.
