Local socio-economic performance in May changes positively

On the afternoon of June 7, provincial People's Committee held a press conference on the local socio-economic situation in May 2023. Vo Anh Tuan, Chief of provincial People's Committee Office and Le Tuan Anh, Director of provincial Department of Information and Communications chaired the meeting, in attendance of leaders of departments, sectors and reporters of press agencies in and out of the province.

In May, the province's socio-economic situation changed positively. The province’s index of industrial production (IIP) in May 2023 was estimated at increasing by 2.7% and 6.9% against the previous month and the same period last year. The local IIP over the 5 months increased by 2.1% over the same period. The province’s total retail sales revenue of goods and services in May was estimated at growing by 3.2% and 17.7% over the previous month and the same period last year. Thus, the figure over the past 5 months increased by 14.5% over the same period. The province’s export turnover was estimated at increasing by 17.1% and 2.8% over the previous month and the same period last year. The figure over the past 5 years decreased by 17.9% over the same period. As of May 15, the province’s domestic investment attraction reached more than VND 4.59trillion. The figure, in the first 5 months of the year was more than VND 24.3 trillion. The province’s foreign investment attraction was US$49 million and the figure over the first 5 months of the year was US$885 million. The province also attached special importance to implementing regimes and policies for the families of martyrs, war invalids and revolutionary contributors on Tet and great holidays;  was proactive to prevent and control infectious diseases; maintained political security, social order and safety with traffic accidents reducing in all 3 criteria...

At the press conference, reporters put questions about current affairs, security and law in the province such as the situation of disease control in the current period, material facilities in the new school year; employment issues in the period of global economic recession; construction management and sale of social houses built by the private sector; issues on real estate management, settlement of illegal construction works in and out of residential areas; the progress of compensation and clearance of the belt road 3 as well as the time to start construction of this road...

Mr. Tuan said that provincial People's Committee appreciated the opinions and questions of reporters in and out of the province. The reporters sent nearly 30 questions on current affairs, issues concerned by people to fictional agencies. For departments and sectors, they frankly answered related issues. The province wanted to further receive contributive ideas from media agencies for better development in the coming time…
