Local socio-economic performance sees positive changes in first half of year

Early June 11, provincial People’s Committee held the 86th session to approve the report on the local socio-economic performance in the first half of this year.

 

The province recorded an estimated 12.9% GDP growth rate in the first half of this year as compared to the same period last year. Of the total figure, the agricultural-forestry and fisheries sector achieved an increase of 2%. The industry-construction sector registered growth of 9.6% while the services sector increased by 22%.

 

During the time, the industrial production value was also estimated to reach VND45.898bln, up 19% compared to the same period last year. The total value of trade and services was estimated at VND19.419bln, up 28.7%. The total export turnover reached U$S3.4bln, up 18.5%.

 

According to provincial chairman Nguyen Hoang Son, the province’s socio-economic performance saw positive changes in the first half of the year. He also asked for localities to make more efforts in seeking measures to obtain higher GDP growth, ensuring the completion of the targets set out by provincial Party Committee and People’s Council in the 2005-2010 period.
