Local Taekwondo athletes prepare for London Olympics

Two Vietnamese Taekwondo athletes Le Huynh Chau and Chu Hoang Dieu Linh will attend a two-month training course in the Republic of Korea (RoK) before competing at the upcoming Summer Olympics in London.

 Chau won a bronze medal in the men’s 58kg event at the 2012 Asian Taekwondo Championships, which concluded in Ho Chi Minh City on May 11.

In the women’s 67kg event, Linh failed to proceed after losing 1-5 to Hwang Kyung Seon from the RoK in the first match.

Earlier, on May 9, Doan Thi Huong Giang clinched a silver medal in the women’s 49kg event. Her teammate, Nguyen Thanh Thao, who bagged a bronze medal at the 26th SEA Games, earned another bronze medal in the women’s 62kg event.
