 Receiving attention in aspects

 Under the national strategy of “For Women’s Advancement”, provincial Board for Women’s Advancement effectively implemented its targets on gender equality for the local women in the fields of employment, education-training, healthcare while enhancing the quality of the local women’s movements in the fields of economy, culture, social affairs and politics, ensuring their legitimate rights and interests in family and society…over the past ten years.

  

 Businesswomen making contributions to the local development

 In addition to employment creation, the local sectors paid attention to giving vocational training to the local women, especially poor ones in the rural region via the local vocational oriented project for rural laborers. Between 2005 and 2009, the project gave vocational training to 7,000 laborers, including 3,899 female ones.

 The local Bank for Social Policy also disburses loans for nearly 13,500 households of poor women to develop homebased business between 2006 and 2010, contributing to improving their lives. According to statistics, the province over time provided jobs for 46,000-56,000 laborers a year, 62%-85% of whom were female laborers.

In terms of education-training, from 2005 and 2010, there were over 97% of women aged between 25 and 40 getting illiteracy eradication a year; 97%-100% of female children aged between 11 and 14 fulfilling primary school graduation a year. 1,499 out of 2,300 female civil servants were sent to training courses…

 Over the past time, provincial Board for Women’s Advancement also teamed up with relevant agencies to implement the education work to raise awareness of healthcare for women. There are now 100% of commune, ward, township-level health stations with physicians or midwives, meeting the local women’s demand for reproductive health…

 Affirming women’s position

 In the period of the country on the way of industrialization and modernization, Vietnamese women have managed to overcome difficulties to rise up, constantly studied and improved their qualification in all aspects, greatly contributing to the development process of the country. Many women have gained trust from the Party, State and people and they have been recommended to the leadership positions…

 In Binh Duong, there have been appeared many outstanding female collectives and individuals… Under the attention of the whole society, they have affirmed their role and upheld their ability. They now make efforts for the common advancement of Vietnamese women and are determined to excellently fulfill tasks in 2011, contributing to successfully realizing the targets set out by the resolution of the provincial Party Congress.
