Localities in northern region of province complete infrastructure at development requirements

Update: 25-10-2024 | 11:14:07

Industrial development has contributed to changing the socio-economic image of localities in the northern region of the province. In the coming time, Binh Duong will continue strongly promoting the relocation of industries from localities in the southern region to the northern region of the province, expanding development space and building new infrastructure facilities to meet the province's development needs in this new phase.

Increasing attraction

Among the northern districts of the province, Bau Bang is considered as a locality with the most favorable conditions for industrial development, due to having a central location and being the northern gateway of the province. This area has also been approved for an industrial parks (Ips) expansion plan, increasing the Ips area by 6.2 times compared to the existing one. In addition to Bau Bang Ip and the expanded Bau Bang Ip, the district also has Tan Binh Ip, Lai Hung Ip and Cay Truong Ip, which are being invested in infrastructure, ready to welcome investors. Along with this, the Science and Technology Ip project is creating great development opportunities for the locality.

With their advantageous location, spacious and open land, along with preferential mechanisms and policies,  industrial parks (IPs) in Bau Bang district have further attracted strong interest from investors. Many investors, namely KyungBang Vietnam Co., Ltd., Kolon Group, Far Eastern Polytex (Vietnam) Co., Ltd., and Giant Manufacturing Vietnam Co., Ltd…are further investing in new, more modern machinery lines, expanding production and business facilities to increase productivity.

Vo Thanh Giau, Vice Secretary of Bau Bang district’s Party Committee and Chairman of the district’s People's Committee stated that the locality is mobilizing all resources to invest in the development of a synchronous and modern infrastructure system in connection with industrial, service and urban development. The district has expanded the Bau Bang IP by 1,000 hectares (with 892.2 hectares located in the district), Tan Binh IP with 352.5 hectares (95.18 hectares in the district), Cay Truong IP (700 hectares) and Lai Hung IP (600 hectares). The total area of IPs being developed is 1,687.38 hectares.

Notably, according to the plan, Cay Truong IP is a multi-sectoral IP attracting investment under the province’s development direction. Cay Truong IP has total investment capital of over VND 5,459 billion, with Becamex IDC as the main investor. This IP promises to create further momentum for attracting investment and promoting industrial development in Bau Bang district in the coming time.

Expanding development space

With the orientation of developing IPs and industrial compounds (ICs) by 2030, Phu Giao district has been approved for the planning of five ICs, namely Tam Lap 1, Tam Lap 2, Tam Lap 3, Tam Lap 4 and Phuoc Hoa, with a total area of over 307 hectares. To date, Tam Lap 1 IC, covering more than 68 hectares, has begun construction and an investor has already implemented a project there. District-based IPs and ICs are all located along the North Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang and Phu Giao - Dong Phu arterial roads, facilitating investors, thereby contributing to creating jobs and improving living standards for the local residents.

In Dau Tieng district, from 2021 to 2030, it is planned to establish additional 12 ICs. Along with Thanh An IC, which covers an area of 47.56 hectares and is operating effectively, the district plans to convert additional 864 hectares of rubber land into ICs in the near future. Mai Ba Truoc, Secretary of Dau Tieng district’s Party Committee stated that the locality is accelerating the planning, construction and development of infrastructure to create a foundation for attracting investment and fostering economic growth, helping relieve pressure on the IPs and ICs in the southern region of the province. The district is also pushing for land clearance to begin construction on roads connecting with Ben Cat, Bau Bang, Ho Chi Minh city and Tay Ninh province. Once completed, these roads will serve as important bridges to attract investors to Dau Tieng.

After three years of construction, the North Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang arterial road has been completed and is now in use. This has significantly reduced travel time, cut transportation costs, facilitated trade activities and enhanced the capacity for goods transport, creating new momentum and development space. Mai Hung Dung, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee noted that the completion of the North Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang arterial road has not only facilitated the transportation of goods, but also opened up new development opportunities for the northern districts and Binh Duong province as a whole. The project is a critical link in completing Binh Duong's traffic network with neighboring localities.

According to Binh Duong province's planning for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the province’s northern region, including Dau Tieng, Bau Bang, Phu Giao and North Tan Uyen will establish new-generation IPs. These IPs will attract the development of urban-industrial-ecological service models, with a synchronous and modern infrastructure system, a comprehensive service network and an attractive investment environment, ensuring a green, clean and beautiful environment.
