Localities need to further pay attention to ensuring social welfare

On January 18, provincial Party Committee’s delegation, led by Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation had working sessions with the Standing Boards of Bau Bang district’s Party Committee and Thuan An city’s Party Committee on the local situation of socio-economic development, national defense - security, Party building in 2021, and orientations for 2022. The delegation also visited, offered gifts to the local policy beneficiary families, disadvantaged people and orphans, due to Covid-19.

Developing Bau Bang into a town

In the morning, the delegation worked with the Standing Board of Bau Bang district’s Party Committee. In 2021, despite being heavily affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, Bau Bang district early had a very good plan on pandemic prevention and control, thereby bringing the local economy to stable development, taking good care of people's lives.

Accordingly, the district’s value of industrial production and construction was estimated at more than VND24.35 trillion, an increase of 15.61% compared to 2020. The district also attracted 97 newly registered projects and 7 extra-ones with more than VND1 trillion and more than US$809.7million. The district’s total retail sales revenue of goods and services was estimated at more than VND 6.37trillion, up 16.54% compared to 2020. The district’s agricultural production value was estimated at more than VND 2.14 trillion, up 2.61% compared to 2020. The district’s State budget revenue has so far reached more than VND 1.18 trillion, or 103.92% of the plan assigned by the province and 89.06% of the plan assigned by the district’s People's Council...The district achieved and exceeded 18 out of 21 targets set out in the year.

Mr.Loi highly appreciated results on socio-economic development done by the district’s cadres and people in 2021. He also directed departments and sectors to quickly remove obstacles in procedures, urban planning, industrial manufacture, infrastructure development in order to develop Bau Bang into a town in the coming years; recheck the local industrial parks and compounds in order to arrange factories and enterprises outside industrial parks from Thuan An and Di An cities. Regarding agriculture, the district must have development orientations and reach contracts for consumption during the production process, not letting people "swim" by themselves and focus on developing high-tech agricultural models... Bordering Binh Phuoc province, the district must pay special importance to maintaining security and order, especially on the last days of the year and on the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival.

Mr.Loi also spoke highly of the local Covid-19 prevention-control and social welfare. He asked for the local government to further call for enterprises and donors to join hands in social welfare work. On the morning of the same day, the delegation attended the “Tet for the poor" program held by provincial Red Cross Society in collaboration with Bau Bang district. The Secretary of provincial Party Committee graciously visited and presented 100 gifts to needy people and 11 children whose father and mother died due to the Covid-19 pandemic and 43 blind people. The delegation also visited and extended Tet greetings to heroic Vietnamese mother Nguyen Thi Tu and her family in Tru Van Tho commune, visited elderly Party members, checked the operation of the Covid-19 treatment center, mobile medical station, community-based Covid-19 group in Lai Hung commune.

Thuan An striving to develop further

On the afternoon of the same day, the delegation worked with the Standing Board of Thuan An city’s Party Committee on the local socio-economic development in 2021 and the plan for 2022. Also attending the event were Pham Van Chanh, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Council; Truong Thi Bich Hanh, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Propaganda and Education; Nguyen Van Danh, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee; representatives of departments, agencies and sectors in the province.

In 2021, the complicated developments of Covid-19 pandemic comprehensively and deeply affected all aspects of socio-economic life in Thuan An city. Under the leadership of the province and the local efforts, the Executive Board of Thuan An city’s Party Committee has focused on well directing the implementation of resolutions and directives from higher authorities; the "dual goals" of Covid-19 prevention-control and socio-economic development. In 2021, the Executive Board of the city’s Party Committee led the implementation of achieving 9 out of 15 targets of the annual resolution.

Nguyen Thanh Tam, Chairman of the city’s People's Committee said that despite being affected by the pandemic, the city has still focused on well performing the task of taking care of targeted people on the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival 2022. The city has also bent on ensuring people's safety during the Tet festival; well carrying out Covid-19 prevention and control; implementing preparations for the selection of citizens to join the army...

Speaking at the working session, Mr. Loi highly appreciated results on socio-economic development done by the city, especially in the implementation of the "dual goals" of Covid-19 prevention-control and economic development. In the coming time, leaders of the city need to further make more efforts in order to build up a more and more prosperous Thuan An; well perform Covid-19 prevention and control, especially in the face of new strains…

The Secretary of provincial Party Committee emphasized that Thuan An needs to choose appropriate contents for re-planning towards modernity, civilization, and focus on ecology; absorb hi-tech and clean projects; concentrate on investing in infrastructure facilities, especially traffic ones; create investment capital; strengthen management on mineral resources, land, construction, treatment of environmental pollution... The city also need to further pay more attention to socio-cultural work with focus on education and training, creating human resources; arrange and consolidate the local grassroots medical network for new development under the general scheme of the province; take care of social welfare, especially pay attention to the local vulnerable people.

Regarding national defense and security, the city needs to pay attention to selecting new recruits, maintaining the local political security, social order and safety. For Party building work, the city needs to strengthen inspection, supervision and prevention of corruption and negativity; further promote administrative reform, build e-government... towards a pure and strong political system.

On the afternoon of the same day, the delegation attended the “Tet for the poor" program 2022, which was co-held by provincial Red Cross Society and its branch in Thuan An City. The program gave 67 gifts worth VND5.3trillion each, including VND5million in cash for students whose parents died, due to Covid-19; offered 64 gifts worth VND1.3trillion, comprising of VND1million in cash; donated 15 gifts worth VND1.3million, including VND 1 million in cash for needy families.

The delegation also visited, gave gifts and extended Tet greetings to heroic Vietnamese mother Nguyen Thi Dinh; Nguyen The My, a one-fourth-class wounded soldier; Luong Thi Ut, with 55-year Party membership and the family of Le Thi Thu, a worker with difficult circumstance in Lai Thieu ward.

In the visiting places, provincial Party Committee Secretary extended best regards and expressed his sympathy with difficulties in people's lives over the past time. He also wished the targeted people good health and a happy, peaceful and warm new year while wanting that they will continue trying harder for a better and better life.
