Localities, units strengthen inspection of Covid-19 prevention and control

Early February 23, Nguyen Loc Ha, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee chaired an online meeting of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 prevention and control with 9 districts, towns and cities in the province. The event was attended and directed by Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation.

Over the past 7 days from February 16 to February 22, the number of Covid-19 cases in the province increased by 154.2% compared to the previous week. The reason for the increase was the demand for travel, tourism during the Lunar New Year and activities are gradually reopening. The number of Covid-19 infections in the province increased, but the pandemic is under control. In terms of the level of the pandemic in the week, there were all 91 new normal communes and wards. The rate of infected cases among students was very low...

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Loi emphasized: After Tet, the number of Covid-19 infections in the province increased, but the pandemic is still under control. The number of hospitalizations and deaths decreased significantly. Under the conditions of returning to the new normal state, the number of Covid-19 infections is expected to further increase. Espencially, the Omicron variant has entered localities. Provincial Department of Health needs to support localities in explaining the genes of infected cases. Heads of localities, units need to strengthen the inspection of Covid-19 prevention and control. The Steering Committees at all levels need to quickly complete and supplement their action plans against to the new strain, absolutely not being negligent or subjective. To cope with the new strain, the health sector first needs to focus on directing relevant units to organize definitive vaccination against Covid-19 among people, without setting up cumbersome administrative procedures... The education sector needs to well implement the model of school health, strictly controll the pandemic and have coordinated between schools and parents to take care of the health and study of students. In addition, sectors, units and localities should strengthen propaganda, raise people's awareness, consolidate treatment facilities, ensure equipment, supplies, drugs, strictly handle pharmacies profiteering that affects people's lives.
