Long Nguyen Rubber Plantation under Dau Tieng Rubber Corporation now manages and tends more than 2,400 ha of rubber trees.

 Owning to its rubber gardens bordering many communes of Ben Cat and Dau Tieng districts, even mixing into residential areas, Long Nguyen Rubber Plantation has faced hurdles in defending its properties. Before the situation, a volunteer squad of young workers was set up on September 2005 to defend the plantation’s properties. This is also the first and effective property-defending model of the Vietnam Rubber Corporation.

 Receiving encouragement from the plantation’s leaders, members of the squad have been very determined to fight against negative actions to defend the plantation’s properties, said Secretary of the plantation’s Youth Union cum Head of the volunteer squad Nguyen Thanh Bao. Since its inception, the plantation’s volunteer youth squad has teamed up with the local functional agencies to make over 500 patrols, discovered 4,500 rubber latex stealers, took back nearly 9,800 kg of rubber latex; temporarily seized 67 various vehicles…

Based on the real situation, members of the plantation’s volunteer youth squad will be created favorable conditions to take part in the watch work of the squad Each group of workers at the plantation has also made duty schedules during working hours. Therefore, coordination in protecting the plantation’s properties has always got closed. Noticeably, the model of Long Nguyen rubber plantation’s volunteer youth squad to defend properties has so far spread to all plantations of Dau Tieng Rubber Corporation, greatly contributing to defending the corporation’s properties.

 With achievements in defending the plantation’s properties as well as maintaining the local order-security, Long Nguyen rubber plantation’s volunteer squad of young workers was awarded many certificates of merit by the Vietnam Youth Union Central Committee, the provincial Youth Union and director of Dau Tieng Rubber Corporation. Especially, this volunteer youth squad attended the provincial-level festival for outstanding youths in following Uncle Ho’s teachings and the Vietnam rubber sector’s festival on volunteer youths to defend public assets…
