Lots of potential to promote MICE tourism

Recently, with cultural and trade connection activities taking place continuously, Binh Duong has welcomed many delegations and partners from provinces and cities nationwide as well as other countries. This is an opportunity for Binh Duong to promote the development of MICE tourism - a type of tourism that combines seminars, conferences, incentives and events.

Promoting tourism

Tourism promotion is an important part of Binh Duong provincial tourism development program to help attract visitors, creating a brand and image as well as promoting the local tourism products. Since early this year, this work has continued being promoted by provincial Tourism Promotion Center through participating in promoting and introducing the local tourism information, cultural and tourism activities in provinces and cities; organizing events, contributing to bringing positive signals.

Accordingly, in the first 8 months of 2023, the whole province was estimated at serving about 2.2 million visitors, or 110% of the yearly plan, up 144% compared to the same period in 2022. It is expected that in the remaining months of the year, the number of visitors to Binh Duong will continue increasing significantly. Nguyen Duc Minh, Director of provincial Tourism Promotion Center said that in order to attract more tourists, along with activities popularizing the local tourism information, since early this year, the center has also participated in many activities in provinces and cities nationwide. At each event, Binh Duong’s tourism information booth received the attention of many tourism service businesses, domestic and foreign tourists.

Typically, the center participated in the 17th Ho Chi Minh city International Tourism Fair of 2023 in early September. At the tourism fair, Binh Duong introduced and promoted the local typical tourism products, tourist attractions and traditional craft village products such as lacquer paintings, pottery, rattan and bamboo items, wooden clogs, specialty fruits... Previously, the center also participated in introducing and promoting Binh Duong tourism information at the 19th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival in April; the first festival promoting the art of processing vegetarian dishes in Tay Ninh province in February; took part in the Southeast cultural, tourism and culinary space in Binh Phuoc province in January...

According to Nguyen Duc Minh, through participating in these events, the center provided domestic and foreign tourists with information and unique tourism products of Binh Duong while connecting the province's tourism units with provinces, cities and countries participating in these events to create new tourism products, attracting more tourists to Binh Duong in the next time. For the center, this is an opportunity for the unit to exchange, approach, share and learn more experience in tourism promotion from other units; receive feedback and suggestions from customers and tourists for Binh Duong tourism products in order to make appropriate adjustments and advise the local tourism sector on relevant plans to promote the local tourism sector.

Fostering MICE tourism

Binh Duong is a province in the Southern Key Economic Region, near Ho Chi Minh city - the country’s largest economic and cultural center with a convenient transportation infrastructure system together with material facilities at the requirements of organizing great events. Over the past time, many investors chose Binh Duong to invest in complexes that can organize large events. Especially, since early this year, cultural and trade connection activities have continuously taken place at the International Exhibition Center (WTC EXPO) in Binh Duong New City, contributing to helping this tourism activity in Binh Duong get many more development opportunities.

With a total area of ​​up to 22,000 square meters, WTC EXPO is considered as a place specializing in providing MICE services in Binh Duong, a bright spot in the Southern Key Economic Region. Over the past time, WTC EXPO gradually affirmed its brand and reputation as a reputable unit by successfully organizing and co-organizing many events, seminars and conferences, attracting thousands of guests as well as domestic and foreign partners.

Not being far from the WTC EPO is provincial Convention and Exhibition Center - one of the ideal places to organize large-scale provincial and international events, conferences and exhibitions. Not only participating in events, many guests also took advantage of their stay here to visit and experience Binh Duong tourism. In the central area of ​​the province, there are also Becamex hotel, The Mira hotel, Dai Nam tourist area, Phuong Nam resort... so that tourist groups can relax while organizing conferences and seminars.

Over the past time, Binh Duong also attached special importance to strongly investing in arterial and inter-regional roads to increase connectivity and expand trade opportunities with big cities, especially Ho Chi Minh city. Mr.Minh said that with these conditions combined with existing tourism potential, Binh Duong is not only an attractive investment destination, but also a place with potential for MICE tourism development. Tourists and businessmen traveling in combination with participating in conferences, seminars... are favorable conditions for Binh Duong to tap various types of tourism, including MICE tourism in the near future.
