“Luscious South beauty”

That was the theme of “Don ca tai tu” (DCTT) Festival of Southeastern region 2016 hosted by Cultural Office under Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with Binh Duong Province People's Committee. Coming to the festival, numerous lovers of this art felt so happy, because the beauty of DCTT is developing and expanding.

The festival took place in an exciting atmosphere, when people throughout the country welcomed a great political event, the election on May 22. This was also a preparation for the 2nd National DCTT Festival that will be held in Binh Duong in 2017. Thus, the event attracted the attention and participation of 11 DCTT troupes from An Giang, Ben Tre, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Tay Ninh, Long An, Vinh Long, Ho Chi Minh City, Tien Giang and Binh Duong. Besides competition performances, the festival comprised cultural exchanges of DCTT at 5 localities: TDM City, Thuan An, Di An, Phu Giao, and Tan Uyen Town. To lovers of DCTT, this was really a useful playground, an opportunity for them to exchange, learning experiences in performing of artists from 11 provinces and cities.

Sharing the joy after enjoying impressive performances at the festival, musician Huynh Khai said: “Many senior, young artists and even children participated in the festival. This was a very encouraging signal, because DCTT is being preserved by a very talented and enthusiastic generation. This also demonstrated the vitality of music and lyrics of a heritage art promote its values”.

With meticulous preparation and enthusiasm, DCTT troupes of eastern and southwestern region gave many special performances to audiences. Each locality successfully showed their “speciality”, songs praising their tradition and people in homeland, the beautiful feelings between the rear and the front line, the mainland with the islands. Through music and lyrics, artists demonstrated the charisma, vitality of an art recognized by UNESCO as intangible heritage of humanity.

Mr. Dang Minh Hung, Deputy Chairman of PPC, said the festival was a practical action of the Party, government and people of Binh Duong to contribute to the implementation of the Party Resolution on “Building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity" and the national action program on protecting and promoting the values ​​of DCTT. Hopefully, in the future, Binh Duong will receive more attention, favorable conditions from Ministry of culture, Sports and Tourism to develop provincial culture, sports and tourism, especially in the organization of the 2nd National DCTT Festival 2017.
