Ly Hoang Nam deploys the first milestone of Vietnamese tennis sports

The 18-year-old tennis player of Becamex Binh Duong, Ly Hoang Nam has made the history as the first Vietnamese tennis player ranked in top 1,000 of the world. This the first milestone of the first rate Vietnamese tennis player and the pride of Binh Duong provincial sports.

The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) newly announced Ly Hoang Nam of 915th in ATP ranking to be in top 1,000 as he has targeted for ever since the beginning of 2015. The achievements are thanks to continual and non-stop efforts of Ly Hoang Nam and good investments of Becamex IDC to sports in 9 years and from 2013 to 2015 particularly.

Do Thanh Yen, a former table-tennis player of the province and mother to Ly Hoang Nam said: “He showed us the sports talent on following me to sports centers in Go Dau District of Tay Ninh Province. However, he only engaged in professional tennis by a hint of a neighbor about joining Becamex team-up. I think that we should be thankful to Becamex IDC and its Binh Duong Trade and Sports JSC as well as tennis specialists for training him to become as today.”

After joining up tennis training institution of Becamex at 9 years old, Ly Hoang Nam was trained up with basics from excellent coaches of Vietnam. Then, Becamex invited an Australian specialist to train Ly Hoang Nam and his peers of Huynh Dan Mach, Huynh Phuong Dai Trang, etc. He was then sent to Thailand and Malaysia for small and large tournaments of Junior ITF, to Europe and USA for training infamous tennis players in the world.

In 5 years, he has been sent to over 50 Junior ITF and Challenger tournaments across the continents to improve his competence and psychology and experience in competition. Thereon, he has won continual success.

At the peak of success, he on coupling with Sumit Nagal, a tennis player from India, has won the championship for tennis double at world young tennis players of Wimbledon 2015. At the time, he was beyond the top 1,100 of ATP. To be positioned in top 1,000, Ly Hoang Nam was sent to F26 and F27 tournaments of Men’s Futures in Egypt where he has made great tributes. Despite failures at F26 tournament, he has passed through semi-final after defeating Edoardo Eremin (485th world rank), Silverman Cameron (1,082nd world rank), and Baris Erdugen (650th world rank) at F27 tournament. At the time, he was ranked 1,036th in ATP ranking before being sent to Men’s Futures in Cambodia to be at semi-final of F2 tournament and 1/32 qualifying round of F3 tournament to accumulating 7 points to be in top 1,000 (933rd rank) and 915th in ATP ranking in the newest update. The Tennis World USA considered Ly Hoang Nam as history maker for Vietnam for being in top 1,000 of ATP.

And, he is targeting for top 700 and top 500 in 2016, affirmed Le Viet Cuong, the Director of Binh Duong Trade and Sports JSC.
