Making wealth from farming is not difficult, says Liem

Despite young age, Pham Quoc Liem, director of U&I Agriculture JSC in An Thai hi-tech agriculture area in Phu Giao district has created a solid position for himself. By mature and profound thinking, he has implemented his dream of “changing rural youth’s thinking in industrialization period”.

He has grown up on a land with fruit and ornamental trees. Therefore, he has attached closely to agricultural production model afterwards.

He shared “Many people think that agriculture is a hard work. Vietnamese rural youths often wish to work at cities but in developed nations, farming is appreciated highly. Meanwhile, agriculture in Vietnam often encounters a refrain of “good crop must suffer low price and high price must suffer bad crop”. So, I feel that I must do something for the local agriculture”.

In 2008, the provincial People’s Committee asked the local department of Agriculture and Rural Development to cooperate with U&I Company to build a hi-tech agriculture model. Grasping the opportunity, he applied for working at the hi-tech farming area.

By efforts, An Thai hi-tech farming area has gained remarkable results. Unifarm-branded farming products have started luring clients.

At the age of 31, he has created successes making young people admiring. At present, he has held position of general director of U&I Agriculture JSC (Unifarm).

Lastly, he was the only representative of Vietnam to report results of implementing global agriculture in Japan.

By his deeds, Pham Quoc Liem has proved that rural youths completely can make wealth in their homeland.
