On Feb. 12, the provincial medical sector held a summing up conference of its operation 2014, launched tasks for 2015 and organized a get-together on the 60th founding anniversaries of Vietnamese Physician’s Day (Feb. 27, 1955-2015). Attending the conference were Tran Thanh Liem, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and other delegates.
Reportedly, the provincial medical sector in the past year focused on training manpower and investing in equipment to improve quality of health check-up and treatment. The national medical goal program was implemented effectively. Many targets of healthcare for people were improved remarkably. Most of medical targets reached and surpassed plans.
At present, 100% of commune health station has doctors and midwives and rate of communes, wards and townships reaching the national medical goals in the period of 2011-2020 won 85% and more.
With the mentioned achievements, the provincial medical sector in 2014 was granted the third class Labor Order, 13 sectoral individuals received merit certificates from the Government, 3 units got emulation flags from the provincial People’s Committee as well as many other collectives and individuals were donated merit certificates by the provincial People’s Committee and local medical sector.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Tran Thanh Liem, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee applauded doctors, physicians, cadres and employees of the local medical sector for their contributions in the past year and stressed that the cause of healthcare for people is a responsibility of the whole political system, community and people, of which medical sector plays a key role.
