Many joyful activities in celebration of New Year and Tet festival

In order to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere in the upcoming New Year and Tet (Lunar New Year) festival, many activities will be organized across the province to serve people’s needs for entertainment.

Welcoming happy and healthy New Year 2023

According to provincial People’s Committee’s plan to organize activities to celebrate major holidays and activities to serve the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit 2023, on the occasion of welcoming the New Year 2023 and celebrating the 26th anniversary of Binh Duong's construction and development (January 1, 1997 - January 1, 2023), many exciting activities will take place across the province. Particularly, the 24^th "Hello New Year" BTV - NumberOne cross-country tournament will take place on January 1, 2023, which is co-organized by Binh Duong Radio and Television Station, provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Especially, in order to welcome the New Year 2023 and celebrate Binh Duong's 26th anniversary of construction and development, provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will conduct a special art program, taking place from 20pm to 22 pm on December 31, 2022 at the park of provincial Administration Center. In the program, there will be interesting activities serving people from all walks of life, such as: "Spring Concert" program to celebrate 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan; variety show (including singing, dancing items…) performed by singers and artists from Ho Chi Minh city and Binh Duong to serve the needs of entertainment for all classes of people in Thu Dau Mot city and surrounding areas; art fireworks show to welcome the New Year and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.

In January and February 2023, localities will also organize propaganda, cultural- sports activities to create a joyful atmosphere and serve people’s needs for entertainment. Accordingly, units under provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will coordinate with districts, towns and cities to organize visual propaganda on roads, at administrative centers and in densely populated areas; organize thematic exhibitions, exhibitions on photos, books, electronic newsletters, cultural-sports programs... to serve the needs of the people during the upcoming Tet festival.

Thu Dau Mot city will also preside over organizing fun activities and a fireworks display in celebration of the 2023 New Year and celebrate Binh Duong's 26th anniversary of construction and development at Bach Dang Walking Street at 22:00 on January 1, 2023 (from socialization fund).

Plentiful activities to welcome the Lunar New Year

Along with activities in celebration of the New Year 2023 and the 26th anniversary of Binh Duong's development, during the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit 2023, the province will also organize many cultural, art and sports activities to welcome the traditional Tet festival, celebrate the Party and spring.

In the inner area of Thu Dau Mot city, from January 12 to January 21, 2023 (from December 21 to 30 of the lunar calendar), the city’s People's Committee will coordinate with provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize a Spring Flower Market on  Bach Dang street (at the section from Ngo Quyen - Bach Dang intersection to Ong Kiem bridge) and Walking Street under the extended Bach Dang street, behind Binh Duong Fine Arts - Culture Junior College. The spring flower market will display and sell all kinds of flowers and ornamental plants to serve the shopping and decoration needs of the people on the occasion of celebrating the traditional Tet festival. This is considered as one of the exciting highlights, attracting the attention of a large number of people from all walks of life.

From January 20 to 26, 2023 (from December 29 to the 5^th day of January of lunar calendar), Thu Dau Mot city will also coordinate with provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant departments to implement Bach Dang Flower Street. The flower street will be decorated with flower miniatures with many themes, colored lights to welcome the lunar New Year to create a bustling and fresh atmosphere, serving people’s needs of enjoying spring during the Tet holiday. Along with that, from January 20 to 26, 2023 (from December 20 to January 5 of lunar calendar), fun activities will also take place animatedly, serving people’s needs for entertainment at Thu Dau Mot park and provincial Arts and Culture Center.

The highlight is the 2023 Lunar New Year's Eve program to be held at provincial Administration Center from 10 pm on January 21 to 1 am on January 22, 2023. Participating in the program, people will be immersed in the bustling atmosphere, eagerly waiting for the arrival of New Year's Eve. Exciting cultural and artistic activities together with a fireworks show to celebrate the Lunar New Year in the program will bring everyone unforgettable comfortable moments, joyfully welcoming a good new year.

The People's Committees of districts, towns and cities are also setting up specific plans to assign relevant sectors and units the task of organizing cultural, artistic and sports activities on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2023 to serve the needs of the local people.

After 2 years of being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, this year, service activities on the occasion of the New Year and Lunar New Year 2023 have returned to the "new normal" state. Diverse activities organized across the province promise to bring people warm, joyful and healthy moments; create motivation and confidence to work more effectively in the new year, joining hands in the local development.

Speaking at the meeting about the plan to organize major holidays and activities for the Tet festival 2023, Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee noted that activities to celebrate major holidays and serving the Tet festival 2023 must be organized in a strict, unified, synchronous and solemn manner, creating a joyful and excited atmosphere among people from all strata, being in line with the scale, ensuring practicality, safety, security, cleanliness, economy and efficiency.

The province’s departments and sectors are speeding up the progress of key projects to start construction and inaugurate them on the occasion of the New Year 2023, creating an exciting atmosphere and strengthening people's confidence. The organization of events must be substantial, clear, creative and have a positive impact on social life.
