Responding to this year's "Humanitarian Month", provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels have implemented many meaningful activities, mobilizing the community to join hands in supporting people with difficult circumstances.

Practically supporting needy people

Responding to this year's "Humanitarian Month", provincial Red Cross Society has coordinated with relevant units to hand over 2 “Red Cross” houses to 2 households with difficult circumstances in Phu Giao and North Tan Uyen districts. These were 2 houses that provincial Red Cross Association in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense mobilized the Military Bank to finance the construction.

Being present at the ceremony giving the two houses, we felt the happiness of the families when they received decisions on giving the new houses. Nguyen Van Nam, from Tan Hiep commune’s hamlet 6 in Phu Giao district, member of the two families given the “Red Cross” houses in this round, was very moved when giving a speech thanking all-level authorities and sectors for their support to the construction of a house for his family. “Thanks to the attention and help of all-level authorities and sectors, my family has a new, spacious, clean and beautiful house like today. The house is the dream, the most meaningful gift of our family. Having a new house to live in, my family will try to do business, getting out of difficulties, having stability in life and helping the society", said Mr. Nam.

For the purpose of leaving no one behind, over the past days, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels have also organized many meaningful activities to encourage and take care of needy people. Noticeably, the "Zero dong” market-day took place continuously from provincial to communal levels. Nguyen Van Binh, Vice-Chairman of Dau Tieng district’s People's Committee said that in this year's "Humanitarian Month", many activities will be implemented in the district, including the "Zero dong”  market-day. "This is not only about giving gifts to disadvantaged people, but also shows the traditional beauty of our nation's "mutual love and affection" while implementing the views of the Party and State in accompanying with the poor so that no one is left behind”, said Mr. Binh.

In 9 districts, towns and cities in the province, almost every month, there are “Zero dong” market-days taking place in communes, wards and townships. Nguyen Thi Le Trinh, Chairwoman of provincial Red Cross Society said that since early this year, provincial Red Cross Societies at all levels have held more than 50 “Zero dong” market-days. “Each market-day is done with the joint efforts by all-level authorities, departments, mass organizations and donors. Although not being big, these gifts will be very warm and practical for people with difficult circumstances...”.
