Many measures available for improvement of ethnic and public care

Since 2015, economic status of Binh Duong Province has been improved, making it possible for the province to take care of and improve lives of the public and ethnic communities. The law dissemination and education and agriculture promotion are the two prioritized measures that all-level sectors are paying attention to so that the ethnic communities will be following laws and acting by sciences.

To bring laws, sciences, and technologies to ethnic community

Currently, Binh Duong Province has 42 ethnic families living in poverty, accounting for 0.93% of total ethnic families in the province. By the care for improving living standards of ethnic communities, all-level authorities have rationally implemented the projects of disseminating laws to ethnic communities. For the year, people’s committees and people’s councils of the province, districts, town, and Thu Dau Mot City, Department of Justice, and Agriculture Promotion Center have organized 9 sessions to disseminate laws on traffic and transportation, land, marriage and family, civil affairs, and Constitution of SR of Vietnam to 563 attendants. Three surveying sessions of the needs for law dissemination among ethnic communities have been organized with meetings to know about their wishes.

Ethnicity Division of Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee Secretariat organized 04 training courses to encourage cultivation and planting of rubber trees and pepper across 9 districts, towns, and Thu Dau Mot City for 216 attendants. Concurrently, conference on training key officials of 55 communes and profession officers in charge of ethnic affairs of 9 districts, towns, and Thu Dau Mot City and 91 communes, wards, and townships have been organized. Contract with Binh Duong Newspaper supplying newspapers to key officials of ethnic affairs in the province is signed.

As the ethnic communities have more access to sciences and technologies, life has been better for them and the trust in the leadership of the Party has been enhanced in the light of contribution to the nation construction. Nguyen Van Chuc, the key official of Long Tan Commune in Dau Tieng District said: “Getting to various places, I could see that Party Committee and authority of Binh Duong Province have especially taken care for ethnic communities with laws and high-techs dissemination. Thereon, we know more about the laws and practice sciences in our business to gain high economic yields and improve living quality.”

Measures to improve ethnic affair activities

Aside from the gained achievements, ethnic affair activities have been in great challenges as ethnic communities are dispersed and getting more and more to Binh Duong Province for settlement and jobs, pressuring education, medical care, and security and orders.

To resolve the challenges and improve living quality of ethnic communities, the province has proposed plan for implementing ethnic affair activities planning until 2020 in the province. The Project 2 on law dissemination to ethnic communities will be continued while constructing policies to reduce poverty among ethnic communities. It is suggested that Ethnicity Council, ministries, and departments of central government should decide on officer payrolls of provincial and district-level ethnic affair divisions to ensure suitable strategies in accordance with regions.

Along with the well implementation of industrialization and modernization, Binh Duong Province has gained good outcomes of ethnic affairs. Despite low finance for the aspect, Binh Duong Province has made endeavors to fulfill to win good appreciation of ethnic communities to keep pace with industrial economic development of the province with urgent attention of central government and socialization of ethnic affair activities.
