Many policies taking care of working people affected by Covid-19 epidemic

In the afternoon of October 29, Binh Duong provincial Trade Union held its 9th executive committee meeting in the 10th term of 2018-2023.

The report at the conference said that, due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, nearly 15,000 businesses had to suspend operations to fight the epidemic with 780,000 workers affected. Facing the situation, the provincial Trade Union has focused on implementing many practical caring activities to promptly support union members and employees. Specifically, it has focused on timely disbursing support packages of the government, the Vietnamese General Trade Union and localities for employees affected by the Covid-19 epidemic. Expenditure to support 39,225 cases of F0, F1, isolated cases and cases in blocked areas has been accounted for an amount of nearly VND 90 billion. Meals have been provided for union members and employees who are working "3 on the spot" for 1,164 enterprises with nearly 150,000 union members and employees at a total amount of VND 149 billion.

The provincial Trade Union has also mobilized, received and distributed essential goods from localities, organizations and individuals to support workers. The provincial Trade Union has signed contracts with 59 units and enterprises to implement welfare programs for union members and employees through supporting or selling essential goods at discounts of 5%-40%.

Ms. Nguyen Kim Loan, Chairwoman of the provincial Trade Union, suggested that Trade Unions at all levels continue to focus on solutions to complete and achieve the targets and tasks of developing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions, completing update data on membership management software and print, changing trade union membership cards, evaluating and classifying grassroots trade unions in 2021. It has also developed and issued a plan to organize Tet caring activities in 2022 for union members and employees, especially those who are in difficult circumstances or have serious illnesses or have work accidents and could not return to their hometown but to stay in Binh Duong to celebrate Tet.

The conference held a vote of confidence for the leaders and managers of the provincial Trade Union; 2 members of the Standing Committee and 8 members of the Executive Committee of the provincial Trade Union of the 10th term in 2018-2023.
