Among them, many facilities were established by individuals and are financed by social mobilization resources. Recently, the Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has coordinated with localities to strengthen inspection and supervision of child care; encouraged all levels to visit and give gifts to children on national holidays and Tet.

Bring Mid-Autumn Festival to children

On the morning of September 10, the Provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs established many delegations to visit and give gifts to children having especially difficult circumstances living and studying at social protection centers in the province. Accordingly, nearly 1,000 children received Mid-Autumn gifts, each gift including 200,000 VND in cash and 1 box of moon cakes.

Every Mid-Autumn Festival and Lunar New Year, the Provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs often does activities to care for children very early. Visiting and giving Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to children in Thu Dau Mot City and Thuan An City, Mr. Trinh Duc Tai, Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, encouraged children as well as leaders of social protection facilities; teachers who are directly caring for and educating the children to become good people, nurturing love so that the children can have a better life.

Visiting 55 children being treated at the Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital, the Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs sent regards to the medical staff who are taking care of and treating the children day and night; and encouraged their families to take care of and compensate for the disadvantages the children are suffering.

We also proposed asked the Provincial People's Committee  to support the care with gifts for the children on national holidays and Tet, encouraging them to continue to rise up.

For children, Mid-Autumn Festival is a beautiful, unforgettable memory in life. Ha Minh Tuan has been studying at Lam Anh Center for Children with Disabilities (Thuan An City) for more than 4 years. As welcoming the delegation, Tuan and his friends sang the Mid-Autumn Festival song in unison. Holding the gift from the provincial leaders tightly in his hand, Tuan smiled happily and danced innocently: “I only ate one cake and saved the rest for my mother. I loves my mother very much...”.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet, who lives in Dau Tieng district, whose child is being treated for paralysis at the provincial Rehabilitation Hospital, expressed her joy at her child's Mid-Autumn Festival gift. “I am very grateful to the provincial leaders for their care and concern for the children, including my child. This is a great encouragement for us to have more determination to take good care of our children," said Ms. Tuyet.

Along with that is the inspection of the process of care, nurturing, education, and exercising children's rights according to regulations, especially female children in the facilities. Check the records of receiving and processing applications for groups integrating into the community; the situation of receiving aid and using humanitarian aid to ensure standards and operating conditions according to regulations...

During the inspection, if any problems arise or regulations are not followed, the District People's Committee is requested to direct Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Office of districts, cities, and commune-level People's Committees to promptly report the inspection results to the Provincial Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs before October 15, 2024 for summary and report to the Provincial People's Committee.

Ms. Vi Thi Tam Lai, Head of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Office of Thu Dau Mot City, informed that there is a facility in the city that protects and nurtures orphans, which is Ngoc Quy Social Protection Facility in Hiep An ward. This facility is currently taking care of 45 children. According to Ms. Lai, Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Office of Thu Dau Mot City regularly check the process of receiving and raising children at this facility. Overall, all activities at the facility up to now have been error-free. Through inspection, it was noted that their material facilities were somewhat degraded, thus the department encouraged the facility owner to upgrade them in the coming time, to ensure better places for the children to eat and rest.
