MARD, GTZ cooperates to preserve biodiversity in forest ecosystems in Vietnam

The project will be implemented by the Nature Conservation (DoNC) under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s Forestry Directorate and GTZ.

The project aims to improve personnel, institutional, technical, financial and legal conditions to preserve biodiversity in forest ecosystems in Viet Nam, particularly at national level and in protected areas. With a main office in Hanoi, the project will also focus its work on pilot areas, including the Ba Be National Park and Na Hang Nature Reserve (in the Bac Kan and Tuyen Quang provinces), Pu Hu and Pu Luong Nature Reserves (Thanh Hoa province), Bach Ma National Park (Thua Thien Hue province) and the buffer zones of these protected areas.

The first phase of the project is set to run for three years with a budget of EUR 3 million.
