Market price is still in stability

Update: 01-08-2013 | 00:00:00

According to the provincial Finance Department, price of essential items is in stability. On surveys implemented at wholesale and retail markets across the province, since February, price of food and foodstuff and essential items have not increased abnormally along with price hike of gasoline.

At Phu Hoa vegetable market in Phu Hoa ward, Thu Dau Mot city, small traders said that vegetables’ price is still stable over the past months.

Similarly, since post-Tet holiday, price of pork and beef at Thu Dau Mot market is in stability with pork at VND75,000/kg and beef at VND260,000/kg.

Seafood’s price is impacted easily on price hike of gasoline. However, price of this kind of item is still normal whilst price of poultry is still unchanged. In addition, price of rice is still kept stably with VND13,000 per kg.

Overall, price of necessary commodities at the local markets has been seen at stable level. According to Ph.D Le Xuan Nghia, former vice president of the national financial supervision committee, inflation has been controlled well by the Government.

Amid a stable economy, price of commodities have been unchanged. However, if there is a change of market price, price hike of all items will occur surely. Therefore, macro-control on rate and interest rate management should be focused on to reach a goal of controlling CPI index at under 7% in this year.
