Martial artist wins first gold at Asian Wushu Champs

Nguyen Manh Quyen successfully completed his gunshu performance with 9.72 points to bag the first gold medal for host Vietnam at the Asian Wushu Championships in Ho Chi Minh City on August 23.

Cho Seung-jae from the Republic of Korea came second with 9.68 points and Chinese Macau's Jia Rui was placed third with 0.01 point less.

This is Quyen’s second medal at the tournament after touching bronze in the taolu event. He is expected to grab another medal in the dual event.

Also the same day, Duong Thuy Vy and Hoang Thi Phuong Giang brought home two silvers in the women’s daoshu and jianshu events, respectively.
