Military soldiers join up people relief and Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control

Along with other front-line forces, the military force did not mind difficulties and hardships to uphold the spirit of "for the people to forget themselves, for the people to serve". From tracing, taking samples for testing, organizing concentrated isolation of F0 cases in the area and especially supporting people in 15 "locked and frozen" wards in Thuan city, An, Di An city and Tan Uyen town, they, thereby, introduced the beautiful image of President Ho Chi Minh soldiers in the hearts of the people.

In the past few days, the image of officers and soldiers of the armed forces standing side by side in Covid-199 prevention and control and taking care of people's lives in the province has spread and caused emotion in the hearts of the people. Captain Cao Van Thong and 1,000 officers and soldiers of the 271st Regiment under the 5th Division (Military Zone 7) just been reinforced to support the Covid-19 prevention and control in Thuan An city, said that the unit's troops were assigned the task of distributing food to people in 4 "locked and frozen" wards in the area. Accordingly, the soldiers were divided into many small groups (about 8 people each) to take on the responsibility of receiving food and then organized and divided into small bags to  timely deliver to households. “We perform tasks according to the assignment and administration of the locality. We are always ready to receive and try to complete the assigned tasks and always uphold in the spirit of being ready for and dedicated to supporting the people," Captain Thong expressed his determination.

Corporal Nguyen Thanh Long, of the 20th Company of the 271st Regiment under the 5th Division (Military Zone 7), said that after receiving orders from their superiors, the officers enthusiastically took up the tasks with the desire to stand side by side with the people to soon eradicate the epidemic to bring life back to the "new normal state". While hurriedly loading and unloading bags of rice, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long said: "We have quickly arranged food, then sit down to choose and divide rice and vegetables along with fruits and meat in bags to timely bring local people to make them feel secure at home during the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic."      

Prevent the epidemic to save people

Quick meals and short rest periods are also daily routines of officers of the armed forces in the area of ​​Tan Uyen town since the Covid-19 epidemic has complicatedly incurred in the area. In these events and in response to the special emulation movement "Fighting the epidemic to save the people", the armed forces' grassroots cadres raised their will, determination and responsibility to be ready to sacrifice themselves to fight the epidemic and to save the lives of people, deserving to be the core force and taking the lead in the pandemic prevention to contributing to brighten the image of President Ho Chi Minh's army in the new situation.

Coming to the epidemic center of Tan Uyen town in these days, we could more clearly see the hardship of the armed forces' grassroots cadres suffering from torrent drops of sweat and enduring quick meals and hash sleep - a very common image to catch the eyes. Senior Lieutenant Colonel Lam Minh Su, Commander of the Military Command of Tan Uyen town, said: “For the past few months, grassroots officers of the Tan Uyen town Command and the local militia have always been in the state of running like shuttle to carry out the task of preventing the Covid-19 epidemic. From the beginning of August, the doctors, nurses and mobile testing laboratory vehicles of the Vietnam - Russia Tropical Center were dispatched by Ministry of Defense to be deployed at the Customs Divisions of Tan Uyen town, so the unit added patrol duties and control access to take samples for testing and ensure safety in all aspects.”

Currently, Tan Uyen Town is a hot spot and a "red zone" of the Covid-19 epidemic prevention map, especially, the 7 wards implementing "lockdown and freezing", so the task is even more of burden. However, grassroots officers of the town's armed forces are always ready to take on any task under any circumstances for the goal of ensuring the most effective support for the people. Militant Huynh An Hoa under Customs Division of Tan Hiep ward, said: “For more than 2 months til now, I have been on duty. Although the work is hard because of the rain and the sun, it is a sacred task for us. All are trying to repel the disease for the health of the community."

In Tan Uyen town, nearly 1,684 officers of the town's armed forces are currently on 24/7 duty at epidemic control checkpoints to organize forces and to coordinate with the police to regularly patrol to ensure security, order and social safety and remind people to strictly observe epidemic prevention and control measures. Lieutenant Colonel Lam Minh Su added, with the spirit of "for the people to forget themselves", officers of the armed forces in the area of ​​Tan Uyen town will do their best with the Party Committee and local authority to controll, prevent and repel the Covid-19 epidemic.
