Update: 18-09-2021 | 13:00:34

Early September 17, Tan Uyen town’s Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control held a ceremony to launch a mobile medical station in enterprises (briefly called the Station No.1). The event was attended by Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation; Vo Van Ba, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Party Committee’s Interior Commission;  leaders of departments and sectors in the province together with leaders of the town and representatives of enterprises. The establishment of the Station No. 1 will contribute to improving the effectiveness of Covid-19 prevention and control in enterprises, joining hands with medical facilities to take care of the local people and workers ‘health.

Improving anti-pandemic effectiveness in enterprises

This is the first mobile health station in enterprises in Tan Uyen town and also the first of its kind in the province. The Station No. 1 was established on the basis of human resources and equipment from Phuc Tam Phuc General Clinic in Hoi Nghia ward’s quarter 2 in Tan Uyen town under the management of the town’s Health Center and Health Division. Doctor Dong Thanh Kich, Director of Phuc Tam Phuc General Clinic, Head of the Station No. 1 said that the establishment of the Station No. 1 has met Covid-19 prevention-control as well as need to access medical care from enterprises and employees living and working in the town. Especially, during the process of implementing the healthcare model, more satellite health stations will be established in industrial parks, helping enterprises improve their anti-pandemic effectiveness.

Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation visits the Station No.1

The mobile health station is responsible for managing and monitoring suspected cases of Covid-19 in enterprises; conducting the risk assessment of Covid-19 infection in enterprises; implementing plans against the pandemic when there are  Covid-19 cases; conduct Covid-19 testing; coordinating with relevant units to deploy vaccination against Covid-19; carrying out communications on Covid-19. The station also provides employees with medical examination and treatment for common and chronic diseases; organizes periodic medical check-ups for employees and performs other tasks assigned by competent agencies. It is designed with sufficient sections for medical staff  and patients.

Nguyen Thi Chi, from HU Vietnam Steel Company’s Personnel Department in the Expanded South Tan Uyen Industrial Park said that the company has maintained production under the "3 on-site" model with more than 100 employees. The birth of the Station No. 1 is very practical and timely for enterprises to get access to healthcare when necessary, especially in Covid-19 prevention and control. According to the town’s Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, the town will pilot the establishment of more mobile health stations in 3 other enterprises with the capacity of meeting healthcare needs of 8,000 - 10,000 workers while expanding the healthcare model in enterprises at the high risk of Covid-19 transmission in the town.

Meeting needs in new context

According to a report by the town’s Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, the town's population is about 450,000 people. Among them, more than 50% of employees are working for 1,800 enterprises in the town. Over the past time, many cases of Covid-19 were detected at lodging facilities, factories and companies in the town. Doctor Huynh Minh Chin, Director of the town’s Medical Center said that this is a very important model, helping private medical facilities join hands with the public ones to support Covid-19 prevention-control and health-related activities for enterprises inside and outside the local industrial parks and compounds.

The mobilize health station is appropriately arranged at enterprises, ensuring that workers can access healthcare anytime, anywhere in the fastest way. It is also proactive to early detect suspected cases of Covid-19, provide initial medical examination and treatment for production and business establishments, contributing to limiting the impact of the pandemic on enterprises ‘production. Especially, the model has the functions of implementing anti-Covid-19 activities in the community; connecting primary healthcare, management and treatment of people infected with Covid-19 at enterprises with health care at hospital; providing first aid and timely transfer for workers with common diseases to hospitals.

Dr. Nguyen Hong Chuong, Director of provincial Department of Health said that the local health system in the "new normal" state is operated in the direction of providing medical examination and treatment for common diseases while serving Covid-19 prevention and control such as tracing, testing, vaccination, propaganda … Noticeably, along with traditional healthcare facilities, there will be at least one mobile health station set up in in the “green zone” commune and at least 2 mobile health stations in the “red zone” commune, thereby ensuring that people and employees have access to healthcare anytime, anywhere in the fastest way. The province will also establish and arrange mobile health stations in industrial parks and compounds.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Loi spoke highly of Phuc Tam Phuc private health facility's participation in Covid-19 prevention and control, joining hands with the local public health facilities to take care of people's health and employees. He also suggested that the local government and health sector should pay attention to supporting the model at requirements of Covid-19 prevention and control under "new normal" conditions when all social activities in the province gradually return to normality.
