Models helping women rise up

After more than two years of implementing the Politburo’s Directive No.05-CT/TW on “Acceleration of studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and lifestyle”, Phu Giao district’s Women’s Unions at all levels have organized a variety of effective models, creating favorable conditions for poor members to rise up,  build well-off, equal, advanced and happy families.

From concrete solutions

Pham Thi Hong Tham, Chairwoman of Phu Giao district’s Women’s Union said that over the past two years, the district’s Women’s Union guided its branches to map out concrete plans on studying and following Uncle Ho’s ideology, morality and lifestyle. The district’s Women’s Union also put forward four solutions, including boosting propaganda work; further maintaining effective models studying and following Uncle Ho’s ideology, morality and lifestyle; well realizing a task of setting good examples among officials and excelling at inspecting, supervising, assessing and honoring moral-models. All contributed to promoting the spirit of studying and following Uncle Ho’s ideology, morality and lifestyle in each official and member.

“Raising piggy banks to buy health insurance and help poor women” is one of the district’s Women’s Union’s most practical models

In addition, the district’s Women’s Union launched the movement of “Women with thrift practice in all aspects” with many effective models. Under the model of “Giving strength to poor women”, the association introduced stable jobs to nearly 630 women. There were also nearly 5,430 women getting involved in thrift practice, helping each other in poverty reduction with more than VND611million. Especially, the district’s Women’s Unions at all levels have effectively realized models, namely “Raising piggy banks”, “Accompanying women in border areas”…. As a result, they mobilized more than VND7.2million for women in border areas; donated 940 notebooks to needy women in Tuy Duc district’s Quang Truc commune in the central province of Quang Ngai with a total value of more than VND4.2million.

New models

Under the Politburo’s Directive No.5 on “Acceleration of studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and lifestyle”,  the district’s Women’s Union over the past two years organized a lot of effective models, namely “Raising piggy banks to buy health insurance and help poor women”, “Women helping each other in economic development”, “Women saving wasted materials”….

Among these models, “Raising piggy banks to buy health insurance and help poor women” was the most significant model with a goal of getting 100% of officials with health insurance cards by the end of 2017. After one year of implementing the model, the district’s Women’s Union collected 556 piggy banks from its branches and groups with more than VND170million, offering help to members with difficult circumstances.

The model of “Raising piggy banks to buy health insurance and help poor women” brought practical benefits to members, especially poor ones. Upon this, the district’s Women’s Union collected 2,009 piggy banks from individuals and collectives with more than VND400million. As of late 2017, 100% officials and 251 members got health insurance cards from the model.

Moreover, the district’s Women’s Union built 3 houses of compassion for 3 poor women with a total cost of VND192million; mobilized officials and members to visit, present 10 gifts worth VND10million to heroic Vietnamese mothers; offered 1,114 gifts worth more than VND168million to needy women; awarded 68 scholarships worth more than VND46million and 44 gifts to the offspring of needy women…

Mrs.Tham said that, the district’s Women’s Union will further instruct its branches to replicate the above models, aiming to create favorable conditions for needy women to rise up in life…
