More care-taking made to working people

Update: 15-02-2022 | 17:18:43

About 1.6 million employees are currently working in the province. In order to take good care of workers' lives, in 2022, Binh Duong provincial Party Committee's Standing Board has developed the program of "continuing to improve the material and spiritual lives of workers in the province".

Recreational and care-taking activities are constantly maintained for children of workers and the workers themselves in 2022

Models of playing grounds for workers are still few

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thao, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, said: "The province has always determined that the labor force plays an important role in the process of socio-economic development of the locality and has had many practical guidelines and policies to take care of workers such as housing, job creation, health care, education, investment and improving the quality of activities of cultural institutions, amusement parks, etc. for employees. At the same time, the province actively cooperates with businesses to constantly improve the material and spiritual life of employees.”

Along with that, propaganda and education to raise political awareness, education level, skills, care and protection of the legitimate rights and interests of workers are provided by all levels and agencies; sectors and trade unions pay attention to regular implementation to achieve many positive results. The right policies implemented timely and effectively have constantly improved the material and spiritual life of the majority of the public labor force in the province. The matters of employment, income, housing, living space, and entertainment of the vast majority of workers have been gradually improved.

For the past time, the province has called and attracted investors to build and put into use about 1.33 million square meters of residential floors. In which, Becamex Industrial Development and Investment Corporation - Joint Stock Company (Becamex IDC) invested 1,055 million square meters of floor space by providing 28,916 apartments to meet accommodation for 28,664 people; about 275,000 square meters of floor space in 17 social housing projects for workers invested by other economic sectors, providing 4,305 apartments to meet the needs of 19,547 people.

Currently, in the province 14 businesses are building daycares and kindergartens to serve 3,000 children of workers. Kindergarten 28-7 in My Phuoc Industrial Park of Ben Cat town is with a scale of over 200 children as a typical example of ensuring a learning place for the children of workers. Along with that, 450 businesses have arranged areas and spaces for employees to participate in exercise and sports. About 300 businesses have arranged stages, practice rooms, and audio equipment for cultural activities.

However, the rapid increase in the number of workers poses many problems to focus on solving such as the material and spiritual life of workers, especially in the context of being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Cultural institutions, models, and amusement parks for employees and children of workers are still lacking. The educational level and professional skills of the majority of workers are still limited as the percentage of highly skilled and skilled workers is still low. The effectiveness of propaganda, political and ideological education for workers in some places is not high enough. On the other hand, many businesses do not really pay enough attention to the lives of their employees.

Better care and attention

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thao added that, in 2022, Binh Duong will continue to focus all its resources on taking care of and creating clear changes in the material and spiritual lives of workers to step by step meet the legitimate requirements and aspirations of workers so that they can work and produce with peace of mind and share the same role and responsibility in building Binh Duong homeland under more and more sustainable development.

Thereby, the Standing Board of the provincial Party Committee sets various and effective development goals for the benefits of workers, especially workers with difficult circumstances to promptly and effectively deal with unemployment, accommodation, health care conditions, entertainment and recreation places for workers, creating a safe and secure environment among workers and to improve the capacity of representatives to protect the legitimate interests of employees. The province will build a safe, positive and healthy working culture environment in enterprises, industrial parks and clusters; to improve the quality and efficiency of cultural and artistic movements to meet the needs of the spiritual life of workers.

In addition, the province regularly and synchronously conducts propaganda and education, contributing to improve political bravery, professional qualifications, professional skills, industrial style, and labor discipline for employees; to strengthen inspection, examination and supervision of the implementation of legal policies on labor, employment, wages, social insurance, occupational safety and health, maximum protection of legitimate rights and interests, the legitimacy of workers; to minimize the violations of policies and laws of enterprises and employers towards employees; to build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in all types of enterprises.

The province sets a goal of striving by 2025 to annually create jobs for about 35,000 - 40,000 workers. The rate of trained workers should reach 85%. Each industrial park has at least 1 cultural living area for workers with 1 - 2 new labor culture centers. Every year, 80% or more employees are provided with and disseminated information and propaganda about the guidelines of the CPV, policies and laws of the State; 45 - 50% of workers in non-state enterprises and from 60 - 70% of workers in state enterprises are propagated and educated on political theory, moral thought, and industrial working style. The province strives to have at least 65% of cases of union members and trade union organizations that need consultation and litigation to have trade union representatives participate; 80% or more of enterprises and units with trade unions have signed collective labor agreements.
