More unions will be established in 2024

Up to now, Labor Confederation of Ben Cat City has established 2 unions, which are the Motorbike Taxi Union of Thoi Hoa ward and the Lottery Ticket Union of My Phuoc ward, with a total of more than 100 members. Ben Cat City is the first locality in the province to establish a union, to better take care of the lives of freelance workers.

From the results achieved by Ben Cat City, the Provincial Labor Federation plans to establish 10 more unions in localities in the near future. Some unions will officially launch here, such as: Builders Union (Ben Cat City); Lottery Ticket Union (Thu Dau Mot City and Thuan An City). According to the Provincial Labor Confederation, a trade union is one of the types of grassroots trade unions specified in the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union; gathers legal freelance workers in the same industry and occupation who have voluntarily applied for the Vietnam Trade Union. When joining a union, union members will be supported by the union in accessing social security services. In addition, the trade union organization will take care of and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members.
