“Morning coffee” model with people and urban greening campaign under review

Early September 18, Thu Dau Mot city’s Steering Committee for the project to improve the quality of the movement for a cultural and civilized urban lifestyle held a conference to review the six-month implementation of the “Morning Coffee - Conversations with People” model  and the three-month implementation of the urban greening campaign towards building a “Green and Friendly City” for the 2024-2030 period and the following years in the city, in attendance of Nguyen Van Dong, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee and Secretary of Thu Dau Mot city’s Party Committee.

Since March 2024, the “Morning Coffee - Conversations with People” model has been expanded across the city. All quarters have organized this model on a weekly or daily rotating basis at parks, gardens or quarters’ offices. To date, the city has held 501 “Morning Coffee - Conversations with the People” events with 27,974 participants, gathering 883 suggestions and recommendations on various topics on environmental sanitation, urban order…

The urban greening campaign towards building a “Green and Friendly City” for the 2024-2030 period and beyond, has consistently received guidance and support from the city’s Party Standing Committee, political system, especially the enthusiastic participation of officials, Party members, Youth Union members and people from all strata. Over the past three months, more than 200 businesses and households contributed trees and seedlings, with a total value exceeding VND 41 billion... As of September 13, 2024, the whole city has planted over 526,000 trees, achieving 146% of the target.

On this occasion, the city commended 16 collectives and 18 individuals for their outstanding achievements in implementing the “Morning Coffee - Conversations with the People” model as well as 45 collectives and 57 individuals for their excellent contributions to the Thu Dau Mot urban greening campaign.
