Movements, projects accompany farmers

With the support and concretization of the local guidelines and policies, farmers in Binh Duong have tapped and brought into play the local advantages, emulated in production and business towards enhancing added values and sustainable agriculture.

Efficiency from projects

The highlight is that provincial Farmers' Associations at all levels have continued upholding a project on "Improving the efficiency of provincial Farmers' Support Fund" in the period of 2020-2025. The project with the mode of investment to support animal husbandry, cultivation and services, helping farmers develop production and business under household group projects, thereby replicating economic development models in association with the establishment of farmers' association branches, groups as a premise to build cooperative groups and cooperatives.

Over the past time, Farmers' Associations at grassroots level have actively supported farmers to access preferential capital sources for production development. According to provincial People's Association, the projects were properly and fully implemented during the loan giving process under the regulations. The association also well realized  in surveying areas, choosing feasible plans on business-production and construction of the projects. During the process of implementing the projects, farmers were trained and transferred new scientific and technical advancements into animal husbandry, cultivation and services, so the capital source upheld its efficiency.

Every year, provincial Farmers' Associations at all levels also implement the local agricultural promotion models to support farmers in developing animal husbandry, urban and high-tech based agricultural models. With the policy of supporting the preservation and development of the local specialty fruit orchards in the period of 2017-2021, provincial People's Committee supported more than 10,280 households with nurslings, fertilizer…In addition, the local farmers also approached projects to build a safe vegetable production chain in the southern region of Binh Duong province in the period of 2020-2022 with 7.6 hectares of safe vegetables of all kinds...The working will and spirit plus the support of the local government, the companionship of the local Farmers' Association has created more motivation for many farmers to work hard and achieve high economic efficiency.

Upholding advantages

With advantages and support, provincial Farmers' Associations at all levels have improved the quality and efficiency of the emulation movement of “Good farmers in good production and business”. Through the emulation movement, many households with large production scale, business capital of tens of billions of dong have appeared across the province. Under the movement of "Farmers emulating good production and business, uniting to help each other reduce poverty and get rich sustainably" in the period of 2017-2022, the number of the local households with the average income of more than VND 300 million per year doubled while the number of households with the average income of more than VND1 billion per year saw a three-fold increase…

There are a lot of outstanding farmers in determining to rise up, overcoming difficulties and challenges, tapping the local potential in terms of land, labor and capital to develop effective production models. For example, Dinh Ngoc Khuong, Nguyen Hong Quyet in Phu Giao district’s An Binh commune, Le Minh Sang in North Tan Uyen district’s Tan My commune have developed  models on growing pomelos under VietGAP standards and associated with businesses to export pomelos to foreign markets… These models are increasingly upholding their efficiency, bringing high economic values, ensuring the supply of clean agricultural products and food to the market.

Members of provincial Farmers ‘Associations at all levels have always determined to increase production, trying to create good products with the scale of goods. They have created a picture of Binh Duong agriculture with a new color; formed up large-scale specialized production areas, especially in North Tan Uyen district with more than 3,000 hectares of concentrated citrus fruit trees... In parallel, the movement of "Farmers emulating good production and business, uniting to help each other reduce poverty and get rich sustainably" has contributed to promoting the establishment of various types of farms with high economic efficiency and with many farms achieving the average revenue of billions of dong per year.

Tran Van Than, a farmer in North Tan Uyen district’s Hieu Liem commune shared with us about the model of growing citrus trees with an total area of ​​20 hectares, thereby helping us feel about the diligence and image of the farmer making efforts in production and hi-tech application. Currently, his crop area reaches the average yield of 30-40 tons per hectare per year with the average income of VND5 billion per year, creating jobs for more than 40 workers.

Do Ngoc Huy, Chairman of provincial Farmers' Association said that over the past time, the movement of "Farmers emulating good production and business, uniting to help each other reduce poverty and get rich sustainably" has continued developing in quantity and quality. Many farmers have got involved in business startup, overcoming difficulties to become farm owners, forming up many production linkage groups, cooperative groups, cooperatives and developed many new models of plants and animals. In addition, good farmer households have helped the poor ones with production experience, capital, seedlings, agricultural materials...

“The movement has promoted the development of agriculture and rural economy, contributing to successfully implementing the Resolution of the Farmers ‘Association congresses at all levels for the 2018-2023 tenure and the Resolution of the Party congresses at all levels while helping the local farmers constantly rise to get rich righteously in their homeland", said Mr. Huy.
