Update: 22-11-2023 | 15:09:59

For many years now, women in Cay Kho hamlet of Tam Lap commune in Phu Giao district have often referred to Nguyen Thi Tuyet Suong, Head of the Hamlet's Women's Union Branch with a loving and affectionate name: "Ms. Suong – the rotater of contribution loans. She is a pioneer and effectively maintains the "Revolving Capital Contribution" Fund, a model that has helped women have more capital to invest, trade, and purchase necessary items for their families.

Nguyen Thi Tuyet Suong (on the right) is a women's union officer who is trusted and loved by members and women.

Helping women contribute equally

Nguyen Thi Tuyet Suong shared: "Based on the reality, I have witnessed the difficulties that women in the hamlet face when borrowing money to develop their economy. Therefore, I proposed the establishment of the "Revolving Capital Fund" model to help women contribute equally and revolve their funds. This model also contributes to promoting the spirit of solidarity and mutual support among members, union members, and the people in terms of contributing capital to help each other develop their family economy and escape poverty."

The "Revolving Capital Fund" model was established by Suong in 2021, initially with only 15 participating members. After nearly 3 years of implementation, seeing the truly reputable and effective model, many women union members and people actively participated, with nearly 40 +. Many women union members have improved their lives thanks to the capital borrowed from the fund; and many families have been able to purchase all the necessary amenities. For example, Nguyen Thi Lon used the revolving capital to buy chicken breeds; or Dang Thi Tuyet Van bought rubber tree fertilizer; Le Thi Hue bought wheat seeds to plant from the capital borrowed from this model.

Suong said that the initial capital was established based on the mobilized capital of the members in the group. To ensure transparency and democracy, the group will discuss and agree on the appropriate amount of revolving capital based on the actual needs and income of the members and the people. Ms. Suong is also the person responsible for visiting each family in the hamlet to promote participation in the "Revolving Capital Fund" model and support members and the people facing difficulties to participate on a monthly basis.

Many people in Cay Kho hamlet also said that thanks to Suong's collection of capital contributions, many people have been able to maintain their participation in the group. If they had to rely on their families' savings, it would not be easy. "Now seeing more and more members, union members, and people participating, many people have the means to improve their family lives, and I am very excited," Suong added happily.

Rising together

Du Thi Ngoan, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tam Lap commune, said: "In recent years, the Cay Kho hamlet Front Committee has implemented many practical and diverse activities to gather and attract a large number of members, union members, and people to participate in patriotic movements. Particularly outstanding is the activity of attracting resources to create conditions for members, union members, and people to borrow capital for investment, production expansion, business, and stable lives. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Suong, the head of the Women's Union, a member of the Cay Kho hamlet Front Committee, is a typical example in the women's movement to help each other develop the economy. She has established, maintained, and expanded the "Revolving Capital Fund" model without interest, helping members, union members, and people in difficult circumstances have funds for investment, production, increased income, and poverty alleviation to develop their family economy."

It is known that in addition to effectively implementing the "Revolving Capital Fund" model, Suong also serves as the head of the savings and loan group, receiving entrusted loans of nearly VND 1.7 billion from the Social Policy Bank for 33 member households. In addition, she also propagates and mobilizes union members to actively participate in patriotic movements launched by all levels, especially the clean and beautiful movement of the hamlet. To implement this movement specifically, she has mobilized people to install lighting on rural roads, clear obstructed sections of traffic, repair potholes on the DH502 road section passing through Cay Kho hamlet, Tam Lap commune; plant and take care of 6 flowery roads.

It can be said that establishing and maintaining the "Revolving Capital Fund" model is not simple at all. The model is not mandatory, so it requires the cadre like Ms. Suong to be clever, patient, dedicated, and enthusiastic. Suong possesses all of these qualities, and most importantly, she is loved and trusted by the people.
