On October 30, at Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center, Provincial Department of Education and Training coordinated with Provincial Study Promotion Association to organize a ceremony to commend and reward excellent students in the 2022-2023 school year and award "Support to school" scholarships for the 2023-2024 school year to students having difficult circumstances in the province. The ceremony had the participation of Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Van Loc, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee.

Give wings to dreams

Determining education as the foundation and driving force for sustainable development, especially in the current international economic integration process and moving towards a knowledge-based economy, Binh Duong always pays attention to and prioritizes education. With the province's deep concern and the unanimous determination of the entire branch and the companionship of society, the education and training branch of Binh Duong has overcome many difficulties, achieved encouraging achievements, and affirmed its position in the country.

Provincial leaders commend and reward good and outstanding students in the 2022-2023 school year.

In the 2022-2023 school year, teachers and students of Binh Duong has achieved many outstanding results in national and provincial level competitions. Namely, in the recent 2023 high school graduation exam, Binh Duong rose to second position nationwide (up 1 rank compared to 2022); The number of students passing university and college entrance exams (first round) reached 92.32%; the whole province has 2,172 students scoring 24 points or more, of which 191 students achieved 27 points or more. The achievements of provincial education training sector in the 2022-2023 school year is a very meaningful gift for the outstanding efforts of teachers and students. To encourage the spirit and recognize the outstanding achievements of students, Department of Education & Training commended and rewarded 191 good and excellent students who passed university entrance exams with a score of 27 or higher.

Honored to be recognized at the ceremony, Nguyen Binh Phuong Ngan from Minh Hoa commune, Dau Tieng district, said: “Today I am very honored to attend and receive awards from Department of Education & Training. This is the pride of me and my friends today and this will be the motivation for us to continue studying well in the university environment to become useful citizens in the future".

Lift children’s steps to school

To implement the "Support to school" program for students in the 2023-2024 school year, Department of Education & Training coordinated with Provincial Study Promotion Association to award scholarships to 180 students from high schools on the opening day of the new school year 2023-2024, with a total cost of 900 million VND. Department of Education & Training also continued to receive support from businesses, organizations, and generous individuals with an amount of more than 500 million VND and many gifts including textbooks, uniforms, dairy products... At the ceremony, Department of Education & Training coordinated with Provincial Study Promotion Association to award "Support to school" scholarships to 541 outstanding students who overcame difficulties to study well with a total cost of more than 2.7 billion VND, including 180 excellent students and 361 students having difficult circumstances.

The 541 students receiving scholarships at this program have 541 different circumstances. Many of them are orphans and have to fend for themselves. But they all have one thing in common, which is they have high will and determination to overcome difficult circumstances, and strive to study hard to realize their dreams and ambitions on educational path. They are shining examples of learning spirit and determination to overcome difficulties, worthy of praise and worthy of society's attention. Nguyen Thi Yen Thao, student of class 9N2 at Tran Dai Nghia Junior High School (Thuan An City), said: “I am very happy to receive the scholarship today. I promise to actively overcome difficulties and study well so as not to disappoint everyone's expectations."

The established Provincial Education and Talent Promotion Fund will also continue to bring positive social effects. The Fund will promote strong development of study and talent promotion activities in the province to give wings to the dreams of talented people and empower students having difficult circumstances to continue going to school. The sharing and companionship of organizations, businesses and people in the province will help students overcome their disadvantaged circumstances, fly higher, contributing to building Binh Duong into a studious center and making a worthy contribution to the development of the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Loc Ha, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that Binh Duong always pays attention to and prioritizes education. in addition, the work of building a learning society, promoting learning and talent is a major policy that receives special attention from the Party and State. Over the past time, building a learning society and implementing the "Support to school" program has brought many positive results.

The Vice Chairman respectfully acknowledged the valuable contributions of organizations and individuals who have accompanied the program. He hopes that in the coming time, the province will continue to receive the companionship of agencies, units, businesses, and generous individuals to further motivate students to overcome difficulties and continue studying well, become a useful person for society.
