Multiplying the model of good people and good deeds in the businesses

Starting from trivial actions, nearly 1,000 employees at Compass 2 Company of VSIP I in Thuan An city are becoming more and more aware of the office culture to increasingly promote good models of good people and good deeds. Thereby, they raise awareness about healthy lifestyles, helping each other in hard times, and living with humanity.

The heart of the union president

For nearly 5 years as Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union of Compass 2, Nguyen Duy Phuong has not forgotten the work of the early days. “At the end of 2018, the company had about 1,200 employees working, of whom are 300 temporary workers, making the working environment at the enterprise sometimes not in much order. I personally think that something should be done to make people more aware of the situation and to build a better working environment. Thus, the model of lost and found was born," Phuong said.

In order for this model to work effectively, Phuong has balanced the financial resources of the grassroots trade union while asking for an additional 2% of the company's basic salary per employee to set up a fund so that the company's grassroots trade union can offer rewards for the person who picks up the dropped item and returns it to the owner at the lowest of VND 300,000 a time, and the highest VND 2 million VND a time. Depending on the value of the items picked up, there is a corresponding reward plus a certificate of merit awarded by the company's union. So only in the first month, 5 people received the certificates of merit from the union. “So far, more than 50 people have received certificates of merit for this. Employees also no longer worry about being dropped or forgotten when coming to the company to work," said Phuong.

The good act of this is to gradually increase the awareness of each worker about doing good in a friendly working environment, not coveting wealth and material things that do not belong to them. In the past time, at the enterprise, there have been a lot of workers who picked up the lost items such as phones, bags, jewelry, papers etc. and they immediately went to the company's union to return to the owner without any ‘bonus’ but a certificate of merit. In addition, many people on the way to work pick up lost items, then ask the union to contact the local authority to return the owner.

Nguyen Duy Phuong said: "I am very happy myself and did not expect that today the model of lost and found has such a positive impact on employees. They have applied from businesses to society, to residential areas, and motels where they live to build for themselves a principle of healthy living, not being greedy, and living more meaningfully than before."

The good deeds

Based on the trade union fund, Nguyen Duy Phuong and his associates built many other models of sports activities, taking better care of the workers' lives at the business operations every day. On holidays and Tet, on March 8, August 20, or Mid-Autumn Festival and Lunar New Year every year, workers receive gifts from the grassroots trade union at the value of VND 300,000 - 500,000. Every year, the company's union also gives a part to visit sick people, marriage greetings or bereaved families. Another meaningful job is that the company's union always takes care of the children of workers who have difficulty in studying by giving scholarships at the end of the term for those who study well.

When the movements of good people and good deeds at enterprises are spread, employees will actively join hands to build a healthy lifestyle for the community of more love and responsibility for their colleagues than before. Typically, during the peak of the COVID-19 epidemic in 2021, many workers enthusiastically participated in the province's disease prevention and control. They were not afraid of danger to arduously rush into the epidemic areas to work with local health workers to fight the epidemic for many months.

“This person has not returned, another has joined the registered company's union group and volunteered to go on a mission. Although the union has deducted a part of the fund to donate rice and necessities to the company's workers who are isolated in the "frozen and locked" area, many struggling workers still ask to contribute an extra part helping infected workers and people in epidemic areas. Seeing the sincerity of workers showing love, sometimes I was so happy to tears," recalled Phuong.

And as a matter of course, when kindness and usefulness multiply, the operation of Compass 2 Company's Union is growing stronger in all aspects. All employees in the company share one heart of leaving no one behind. Those are all cases of unfortunate illness, labor or traffic accidents on the way to work, everyone is responsible for it. Depending on the nature of the case, whether it is heavy or light - as the union calls up, the workers immediately respond.

It can be said that the models of good people and good deeds at Compass 2 Company not only create a good working environment to spread love in the community, but also improve workers' lives.
