Update: 26-09-2013 | 00:00:00

Twenty-one players of the national football squad will train in Hanoi, starting on September 26, to prepare for Asian Cup 2015 qualifiers.

Among the 21 players announced by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), 9 have been called in from V-League defending champions Hanoi T&T and first-runners SHB Danang, and four from Becamex Binh Duong FC.

VFF still placed trust in national veterans such as goalkeeper Hong Son, defenders Van Hoan and Van Bien, midfielders Thanh Luong and Trong Hoang, and strikers Quang Hai and An Duc.

It also summoned SHB Danang midfielder Tran Hai Lam who was disciplined at the SEA Games 23, and First Division best scorer Dinh Thanh Trung.

VFF is negotiating with Japanese FC Sapporo to allow striker Le Cong Vinh to play for the national squad.

The players will train in Hanoi for 10 days before flying to Qatar on October 7 for a friendly with their hosts two days later.

They will then fly to Uzbekistan for an Asian Cup qualifying encounter with their hosts on October 15.

They will be back to Hanoi for the second-leg match against Uzbekistan at My Dinh National Stadium on November 15.

They will also take on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in an away match on November 19, and Hong Kong (China) on the home turf on March 5, 2014.
