National series of start-up and innovation activities: Share, connect, promote development

On the morning of December 2, at Binh Duong Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center, the Ministry of Science and Technology coordinated with the Provincial People's Committee and Becamex IDC to organize the opening ceremony of the exhibition and a series of national innovation start-up activities (Techfest Vietnam 2022).

Tran Van Tung, Permanent Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Head of Organizing Board of Techfest Vietnam 2022; Nguyen Van Loc, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Mass Mobilization Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of Becamex IDC, attended the ceremony. There were also the participation of leaders of provinces and cities, domestic and foreign enterprises, experts and scientists.

Ecosystem forming

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that it is an honor to Binh Duong to be the host of Techfest Vietnam 2022 - an international-level event, which is very important to the science and technology industry as well as the province's socio-economic development.

Binh Duong's exhibition booths will gather enterprises strongly investing in science and technology, universities actively engaging in innovation activities, including Block71 Saigon center, which is cooperated by Becamex IDC and National University of Singapore (NUS).

Nguyen Loc Ha added that businesses and schools in the province will introduce modern technology systems, such as industry 4.0, 3D-printing machinery and equipment, products completed and commercialized by startup businesses.

Along with the smart city orientation as a foundation, Binh Duong will perfect and strongly promote policies and foundations to support the development of innovation startup ecosystem in the future.

Through specific programs, such as exhibitions, seminars connecting startups with large corporations, industrial tours designed specifically for the startup business community, Binh Duong wants to introduce provincial potential innovation startup ecosystem.

Motivate innovation

Right after the opening ceremony, a seminar entitled "Solutions to create motivation for inventions and develop science and technology enterprises (STEs)" took place.

At the seminar, experts, businesses and guests discussed some hot issues of innovation in Vietnam, such as innovation - investment in science and technology development in enterprises; solutions to connect resources to promote scientific and technological activities and innovation in enterprises; technology transfer...

Sao Thai Duong Joint Stock Company is a Vietnamese STE that owns 13 inventions and useful solutions gaining innovative awards. At the seminar, Master Nguyen Thi Huong Lien, Deputy General Director of the company, proposed some solutions to encourage technology transfer, such as friendly connection; increase the number and quality of activities of intermediaries; policy solutions to facilitate transfer of effective science and technology projects...

According to Nguyen Viet Long, Director of Binh Duong provincial Department of Science and Technology, the seminar will help connecting and sharing experience in building, developing and commercializing inventions and intellectual property, promoting the development of STEs, connecting resources, transferring technology to enterprises.
