National Unity Day 2022: An ardent solidarity festival

A busy and joyful atmosphere is present throughout residential areas of Binh Duong Province due to the National Unity Day this year, on occasion of 92nd anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. This is a meaningful festival, an opportunity for all folks to further tighten solidarity, create synergy to successfully carry out socio-economic development tasks according to the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh.

The Great National Unity Day in Vinh Phu ward of Thuan An City is really a festival of the whole people with busy food stalls.

To strengthen solidarity and consensus

Tran Thi Hong Hanh, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, said that 92 years ago, the United National Front was established to promote the patriotic tradition of the whole people, serve national goals and tasks during the resistance wars for national independence and in the national construction and defence.

Today, we also gather and unite the whole people’s strength to realize the goals of wealthy people, strong country with prosperous people, and a fair, democratic, civilized society. This task is performed regularly throughout the year, but until November 18, this is considered an occasion to uphold the national tradition, in which the whole people join hands for the common tasks.

In November, the Great National Unity Day is celebrated lively in all neighbourhoods and hamlets of the whole province. This is an opportunity for people to sit together and meet with local government leaders, share their achievements and difficulties in all fields, especially in the work of mass mobilization. In addition, this is also a chance for leaders of the Party, government and Fatherland Front at all levels to directly meet and listen to folks’ thoughts and expectations, thereby tightening the relationship with the people, strengthening the great national unity bloc.

Although the festival organization in each residential area has different scales, above all, this is a day for all people to meet and talk with each other, to make the neighborship stronger and closer, showing the national solidarity. This celebration contributes to strengthening the solidarity and consensus among the population and community; promote the right of ownership, attachment, sympathy, stimulate the potential and creativity of the community; strengthen the close connection between the Party, the State and the people for the great unity bloc of the whole nation, contributing to the successful implementation of socio-economic, cultural tasks, and ensuring national defence - security of each locality and the whole province.

The Great National Unity Day is also an opportunity for folks to self-assess results of the community's self-governance; honour and praise excellent individuals and families in the performance of patriotic campaigns and movements.

To bring the people's right to mastery into play

According to Tran Thi Hong Hanh, this year Standing Board of Provincial Fatherland Front Committee developed a guidance on the organization of the Great National Unity Day in the province; emphasized the close coordination between the Fatherland Front at all levels and the authorities, competent agencies, and member organizations in directing and organizing the day; assigned specific assignments to each member, organization; disseminated information of the 92nd anniversary of Vietnam Fatherland Front to all classes of people…

“The purpose of the Great National Unity Day is to build, consolidate and promote the people's right to mastery; strengthen the great national unity bloc, heighten the spirit of mutual affection, helping each other in the community, and enhance the role of Vietnam Fatherland Front in the new era.

Accomplishments of this festival will bring spiritual values, strengthen the revolutionary will, honour the community strength, and contribute to the fulfilment of political, economic, cultural and social development tasks, ensure national defence and security in association with building new rural areas and civilized urban areas from each residential area/neighbourhood, hamlet across the whole province”, emphasized Tran Thi Hong Hanh.
