Nearly 1,000 athletes attend Dau Tieng’s 4th sports festival

Early August 20, the People’s Committee of Dau Tieng district held a ceremony to kick off the district’s 4th sports festival and launch the campaign of “All people take physical exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho”, in attendance of nearly 1,000 athletes from 35 units across the district.

The ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere with many special art performances. It is known that this year’s sports festival includes 17 events, 13 of which concluded. After the ceremony, participating athletes will continue competing in the remaining 4 events, comprising of tug-of-war, stick pushing, billiards and Taichi performance.

The sports festival is expected to conclude on September 27 ahead. It aims to raise public awareness of taking exercises while sorting out outstanding athletes for the 4th provincial sports festival.
