Nearly 23,000 tons of animal products quarantined

In the first half of 2016, provincial Sub-department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Aquaculture checked, quarantined 22,985 tons of animal products and 4,877 processed animal products transported to HCM city, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc, Da Nang…

The sub-Department also carried out inspection and quarantine for 692 tons of animal products and 126.8 tons of processed animal products imported or transported from Tay Ninh, Tien Giang, Thua Thien-Hue…; controlled over the slaughtering of 9,201 buffaloes, cows, more than 291,800 pigs and more than 3.7 million of fowls.

Tran Phu Cuong, Head of provincial Sub-department of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary and Aquaculture said that the province closely tightened over the slaughtering of poultry and cattle, contributing to protecting customers’ health and preventing the spreading of epidemic diseases from poultry and cattle slaughtering.
